Poll question: It's the day of the election, who would you vote for? |
|
It is the day of the election, and the most recent polls are all clustered around these numbers.
Dem (probably Kerry) - 31%
Nader - 31%
Bush - 28%
Judge Roy Moore - 10%

6. I don't think on can support Kerry at DU |
|
I'm sorry to the nice Kerry DU posters, but the cruelty shown to Dean here will be remembered. It won't be remembered at the polls, but only when I post at DU. Again, I'm sorry. I probably won't post another Kerry message until after the election.

I disagree with him on a lot of things, but it'd create a leftward shift... in the parlance of a previous post, the p*L is the highest with Nader, so it's rational for me to vote for him.

9. Yeah, that "leftward shift" it created last time ......................... |
|
Has cost THOUSANDS OF LIVES. Hopefully those few who are bitter because they didn't get their way will either get over it or grow up a little between here and November enough to realize the importance of removing Bush.

Look at the description of the scenario. Nader has an equal chance of winning as Kerry. This is markedly different than reality. Perhaps you should read and comprehend a post, before you criticize the poster? On Edit: Here's the post I referenced. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=132&topic_id=385815#386242

23. If you vote Nader, your vote supports the religious right. |

Read this article (from GD forum). http://www.axisoflogic.com/artman/publish/article_5160.shtmlI wish Nader would read it, too, and urge everyone to unite against the Dem. nominee. We've got to stop these freaks!

10. Why did you say "probably Kerry"? Has he been crowned yet? |
|
The more people find out about John Forbes Kerry's real record on the issues, the more likely they are to support John Edwards.
Given a choice of hearing Kerry drone on from the White House for four years, or Edward's exciting message of hope and opportunity, I think voters will overwhelmingly choose Edwards.

15. Why mention Kerry's name at all? |
|
I won't vote in this poll for it has been made radioactive by having Kerry's name as the one and only Democratic option.

I would edit the poll to say
"Dem (probably Kerry) --- EXCEPT FOR IndianaGreen, for whom it is Edwards,"
except I can't.

11. Nobody has a lock on the nomination yet |

There are an awful lot of state primaries still to be heard from and they include our biggest states.
It is not wise to "count your chickens ....." as they say.

And this from a Dean guy.
Nader has said some bright stuff in the past, but he's become a parody of himself. A Nader presidency would be beset and immobilized on all sides for four years. Plus I don't imagine he'd have any idea how to put together a cabinet... I don't want another president who relies so much on his advisers, no matter how good his intentions. Bush probably thinks his own heart is in the right place, too.
