Translating William Kristol's use of a double negative
"There's not a single Republican I've talked to in Washington who's not more worried about John Edwards than John Kerry."

- Weekly Standard editor William Kristol, this weekend on Fox News Sunday.

If he had said "All of the Republicans I've talked to in Washington are more worried about John Edwards than John Kerry", I think it would be clearer.

Give that Neocon a C- on use of the English language.

2. Republicans lately have been using a lot of words to say nothing.
I think he was trying to say Edwards scares them more than Kerry, but you can't take anything Kristol says at face value.

I find it specious whenever a repuke shill claims they are afraid of any Dem.

Also, that "There's not a single Republican I've talked to in
Washington ..." crap lets him off the 'credible source' hook, IMHO.

Novak does this same thing almost every freeping day: "I've talked to several Democrats who tell me (something bad about Dems always follows)."

9. Nice guy, huh?
He doesn't seem to fit in with the rest of the Neocons. He's not dark enough, not sinister enough.

I think he's being straight with us about Republican fear of Edwards.

6. What he probably meant was
that real Republicans would probably vote for Kerry over Bush, anyway, so what Kristol said is worth zip. In a fair election, Kerry beats the holy shit outta' Bush; Edwards beats Bush soundly. But no one in their right mind thinks this election is going to be anywhere near fair, so...

10. I think Kristol went public with this as a hint to Republicans: don't vote
for Edwartds in open primaries if you think you're doing it to help Republicans.

They didn't need to say anthing before WI because it was too obvious. However, lots of voices on the left who don't like Edwards have been claiming this happened (when it didn't) so now it's important for the right to send out smoke signals (in double negatives) in case confused Republicans believe what some Democrats are trying to claim.

11. Sad that DUers would put any faith in Kristol
This guy's father was the founder of the NeoCons.

Bill Kristol disagrees with Bush, only in the fact that Bush is not
agressive enough. Bill would have loved a Syrian invasion ages ago.

Kristol is editor of Weekly Standard, the #1 Bible publication of the NeoCons.

Whatever he says or doesn't say about Dems has 0% validity.
