Nader Requests Secret Service Protection
http://www.thespeciousreport.com/2004/04040223nader.html

"Washington, DC | The two leading Democratic presidential hopefuls will soon have something else in common with Ralph Nader.

Immediately after announcing his intention to run for President as an Independent candidate, Nader put in a formal request for the same Secret Service protection that John Kerry and John Edwards receive.

By law, a candidate is eligible for Federal protection if a series of standards are met, including public prominence as measured by polls and fund raising. Or, as in Nader's case, if 63 million registered Democrats want to kill him."

Well, that settles it. No SS protection for you Ralph. Gonna have to spend money on security like everyone else.

3. I think the vast right wing conspiracy likes Nader better alive.
Nader's not a bad guy, but it's just a thought.

9. If someone suggests you commit fraud
You might want to use protestor guidelines: Anyone who suggests or attempts to recruit you for an act of violence or vandalism should be considered a government agent, a narc, or other infiltrator. Never, under any circumstances, accept such a suggestion.

I remember that kind of warning being posted all over the occupied buildings of Queens College during our protest. Long time ago.

13. ? Why? Aren't insane conservatives with guns the ones who are
backing his run so that the "leftish" vote is drained away from the Dem candidate?

We're not the ones historically using assassination as a political tool.

I don't count John Wilkes Booth since Lincoln would be considered a liberal in these times.

armed with pies.

Nor should one underestimate the power of Dennis Kucinich armed with pie charts.

25. better to be mean
than delusional like Nader. If you'll buy Nader's line that there is "no difference" between the parties, I've got a 92 buick lesabre that I'm willing to sell you for the low, low price of 40,000 b/c there's no difference between it and a new Lexus...

26. Sorry, not enough difference between the two.
Was looking for something in an electric hybrid? *lol*

Now don't get me wrong there are GREAT Dems out there. Dennis is one of 'em. But the PARTY is in no way anything like Dennis. Heck, his own party shuns him.

You guys turn into a party of Dennises and then I'll tell you there is a real difference. But until then-- meh.
