There are other positive components to JE other than "son of a millworker".

There is more to what he bleieves than just the actual phrase, "two Americas".

There are very compelling reasons why he jumped very quickly from an expected "also ran", to the "next-to-last man standing" status (I mean no offense to DK or AS supporters).

1. He should highlight his neighbor-based TIPS program more

He will have to go after Kerry if he wants to win, and if Kerry has a weakness, it's that he is not perceived as being tough on terror.

That may or may not be true, but Edwards is on record as saying he supports bush and the war on terror and he has backed it up with his TIPS program, which will be much more effective than the Ashcroft one, which relied on letter carriers and TV repairmen, while Edwards' program is NEIGHBORHOOD-driven, empowering neighbors to police each other for suspect behavior, etc.

It might not be a big priority on DU, but in America's heartland, rooting out potential terrorists and sleeper cells is pretty important.
