When does the bulk of the New Hampshire voting start? |
|
Is it an all day thing? I know some precincts vote at midnight, but what about the majority of the state?
Is it like Iowa where polls open at a certain time or is it all day or what?

1. Most of the polling places will open at 8am and close at 7pm |
|
There could be some in the large cities like Manchester that will close at 8, especially if the predicted big turn out occurs.

2. Nashua will be open from 6:00 AM to 8:00 PM. |
|
Peak rushes occur in the morning and early evening and, to a lesser degree, lunchtime.

A couple of microtowns in the North Country actually vote at midnight. They generate a lot of media hoopla, but inevitably seem to vote for the weirdest candidate on the ballot (I'll bet a round of cold frosties that Ron Paul carries Dixville Notch).
The two largest cities, Manchester and Nashua, open at 6 AM. Most communities open by 8 AM.
Most polls close at 7 PM, but there are some very large communities (Nashua, Derry, Merrimack, to name three) that remain open until 8. These are also very volatile areas with enormous amounts of independent voters.
