Wake up, America: Dennis Kucinich has hit the big time!
An interesting analysis of Kucinich's ever-improving performance. I really think that Dennis Kucinich is going to win this nomination, and beat George Bush in November.

http://www.lesspress.com/voters-volunteers.htm

Wake up, America: Dennis Kucinich has hit the big time!

"Dennis is the most humble candidate I've ever met. Most politicians wear an aura of hubris because they've already been bought and paid for. Dennis will go to the White House as the best chance you've had since Abe Lincoln to see a man's true character as he dons the mantle of Leader of the Free World." - Michelle Shocked

The race for the Democratic nomination has reached a critical point. Less than a quarter of delegates have been assigned, and of these the front-runner, Sen. John Kerry, has just over half. The mass media have been calling it a two-horse race between Kerry and Sen. John Edwards.

But wait! Who's that dark horse coming up on the outside? It's Rep. Dennis Kucinich of Ohio!

Dennis took second place with 30% of the vote in the Hawaii primary on Feb. 24. 30% is the BIG TIME, folks. To put this result in context: aside from Kerry, the only candidates to get 30% or more in ANY state so far are Dean in Washington (30%); Clark in Oklahoma (30%); and Edwards in his home state of South Carolina (45%), Wisconsin (34%) and Oklahoma (30%).

Dennis's success comes as no surprise to those who have been following his upward progress: 5.6% in New Mexico, 8% in Washington, 16% in Maine... Already more than 100,000 people have voted for Dennis in the primaries and caucuses held to date. These people didn't vote for Dennis because they liked his name or because they accidentally marked the wrong box on the ballot. They did it because they want Dennis Kucinich to be President.

Do these 100,000 people know something that the rest of America is still waiting to hear? Who is Dennis Kucinich and what does he stand for?

3. I saw this earlier today
and it reflects a lot of what I'm seeing here on the ground in MN. Our totally volunteer operation put together a series of events that put DK in front of 4,500 people in one weekend-- over 2,300 at the biggest event!

John Edwards, who has the support of many elected DFLers (like the attorney general and Mayor of Minneapolis), couldn't even draw 2,000 to his professionally-organized event that happened the same day-- even though his was mentioned in the media repeatedly while DK's events were all but ignored.

Of course, Edwards' one event was splattered all over the news media the next day, while onle one small DK event was reported on-- not even a MENTION of the 2300 at Northrup auditorium.

But Democrats are sick of voting for Tweedle-Dum or Tweedle-Dumber. They're tired of throwing away their votes for "the Evil of Two Lessers" and want to support a candidate who really speaks FOR THEM, because he IS them.

Dennis Kucinich is that candidate. And now, the rest of the country is catching on.

4. And if you don't want Nader, Vote Kucinich!
There's a Democrat running on Democratic principles, in case someone's missed the point somewhere along the line.

We Kucinich supporters appreciate your thoughtfulness. I hope you'll excuse us while we celebrate the kindling of at least few more lights in the present darkness.

11. Don't get me wrong
Kucinich's showing in Hawaii was impressive and surprising. But he'll need to win large states like Ohio and New York in order to be a real contender.

17. Hope is still alive.
Dennis embodies it. I was thinking about his "end of fear, beginning of hope" campaign this morning during another cyber-conversation. The conversation had nothing to do with Dennis or with politics, but about fear. Words of wisdom from that conversation:

Violence creates FEAR, and FEAR collapses the MIND. It seems to me that ONLY intelligence and LOVE can FIND the solutions the world needs. Yet where there is FEAR there is no LOVE or INTELLIGENCE...

This is something that Dennis understands.

18. Dennis Kucinich IS the big time
No one has a record of standing up against the corporate bastards like Dennis does.

How many people are going to stay home in November if the choice is between:

Two candidates who favor the death penalty.

Two candidates who favor the war in Iraq.

Two candidates who don't favor universal single-payer health care.

How many will stay home?

28. You've voiced a fear we all share, I think.
But unless we want to be held forever hostage, there's nothing to be done but go forward. And try to convey in a quiet but clear way that if they shed his blood, theirs is up next.

25. The reason I am voting for Kucinich and support him every way I can
is that he isn't running for himself, he is running for the American people and their future. This race isn't about him, it's about us. You can't make that statement in honesty about any of the other candidates - none.
