Where do I send flowers next week?
And since you are so fond of comparing your guy to Clinton, here's my homage:

2. Although it's really a response to the viciousness towards Edwards
coming mostly from a select few of Clark turned Kerry supporters, you don't fight disrespect with disrespect with disrespect.

I wish it would all stop

3. Theres a difference between
making a disrespectful post and making every one of your posts disrespectful.

We all get hot under the collar occasionally, adding something to your sig line as a result is about the most divisive thing one can do.

10. so now clinton's a bad president?
excuse me while i pull out the old statements from my broker and my ira balances during the 90s.

not many presidents leave office after 8 years with a 66% approval rating.

if edwards is more of the clinton years, sign me up.

27. Yes, he was a bad president.
He sold America out to the multinationals and backstabbed the Democratic Party last summer when he called in on Larry King. I'm an Edwards supporter, and I'm telling you that you'd be better off voting for Kerry.

14. Okay, now I understand your post from yesterday (Clark vs. Edwards)
But, gee, I don't suppose it might have something to do with all these idiotic "Clark - Out" pictures in Edwards supporters' signatures, could it?

"They started it" doesn't cut it. Someone needs to show an ounce of maturity and put an end to it, and putting insulting pics in their signature does exactly the opposite.

and is against his positive message. wes clark is a great man and should be respected for his service to our country and courage to stand up to bush.

15. If it weren't so sad (Clark pic) it might be funny
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 01:54 PM by Wife_of_a_Wes_Freak
The sad thing is, many of those with the "hottest new sig line" were the same Edwards supporters who were salivating for Clark to drop out so that they could have a real shot at Kerry ("You're splitting the anti-Kerry/Southern vote.")

The reason it's so damned sad, is that not only is Clark out, but Edwards has gained little from it, while Tuesday night's showings were very strong for Kerry, and quite strong for Kucinich... Edwards still struggles to define himself as a legitimate threat - with or without Clark's supporters.

See, kicking a dead horse is childish - but kicking it in anger because it couldn't get you past the finish line is such plain sad.

18. What's up with Deaniacs supporting Milquetoast?
Seriously.
There are so many Deanie Babies on here supporting that guy who has virtually no experience anywhere.
My Clark got berated for "having no domestic experience," when he virtually worked as the equivalant of a governor running NATO.
Now, these same people want to elect a man with NO foreign policy experience and very little domestic policy experience? AND, he's a Washington insider AND he voted for the war AND he voted for and helped write the Patriot Act.
What gives?
Are you people just for the underdog or what.'
Kerry gives me heartburn - he does - but between Kerry and Edwards, I'm gonna have to go Kerry because Bush will CREAM Edwards on the foreign policy issue.
I'm sad to see that Edwards is not running for re-election to his Senate seat. Us Southerners could use some more Democrats in the Congress, even if they do enable Bush.

30. yes, there are
But, after 9/11, I think that it's HIGHLY important that we get along with our world community neighbors (actually, being the ex wife of a Palestinian man, I have ALWAYS thought that was important).
Edwards will be a good somebody someday - he really just doesn't have the skills necessary to do it NOW.
And, I don't just mean political.
I used to cover court for a newspaper - I know more than my fair share of attorneys - and, despite public opinion (LOL), there are some good ones.
It's just that he really doesn't SAY anything except his standard stump speech - that concerns me. And I've been to his site, too. He espouses rhetoric without offering solutions.
The reason I'm for Wes (still am, yes I am - would vote for him all over again) is that he has LIVED the policies he espouses. I don't think Edwards, Dean or Kerry has.
I'll vote Kerry (gag) but ONLY because Wes asked me to. I was going to write in Wes, but, hell, we've got to kick that cretin out of office.
At least with Kerry, I don't have to worry about exprience, even if I don't like half of what he's half-way voted for.

20. Its a good question, my guess
Edited on Thu Feb-26-04 07:10 PM by Jim4Wes
is that they are even more afraid than I am, that Kerry will lose to Bush because he is from Massachusetts. And if that is the reason then it also explains why they supported Dean who was anything but a left winger as a Governor. It seems to point, to a rabid desire to remove Bushevco and I can certainly understand that.

But as you point out, Edwards has weaknesses too.

edited for sloppiness.

23. Hmmmm
Who's pissy now?

Edwards is also LOSING - in case you haven't read. Duh.
In fact, I find it incredible that Clark BEAT Edwards in so many races (even if Johnny wants to call them a "tie") when he didn't start running until September.
Face it, Edwards is only where he is because of media attention.
He's not that good of a candidate.
Look, I'm FROM the South. I grew up less than 200 miles from where Edwards is from and I think he's a lightweight.
But, hey, that's MY opinion.
You have yours - but you didn't answer any of my questions.

37. when did you ask me any questions?
if you did, i missed them. otherwise, i would have answered then.

look, i'm also FROM the south. big deal. i grew up and still live halfway between where clark's from and where edwards is from. so is there some sort of southernness in question?

i gave serious thought to voting for clark, kerry, dean, and edwards. i happened to land on edwards.

it's not my fault clark didn't do well in the primaries, nor is it john edwards's fault. my comment was simply that i'm surprised at how pissy clark supporters are being.

not that you proved my point or anything.......

Edwards lack of qualifications has nothing to do with Clark. If Clark is in or out, Edwards still brings nothing to the Party.

38. I don't find that Clark sig-pic particularly offensive at all, as it
happens. It is a fact that Clark is out of the race. It is sort of funny to see it being used in support of a guy who has managed to win exactly the same number of states as Clark did, but hung in there so he could manage to lose even more. I guess he can keep on losing primaries right up until the convention, long as his money holds out.

Sounds like a great plan to me.
