Poll question: What swingstate are DUers in or near for the General election? |
|
Just wanted to take a poll of DUers to see how they are spread out geograpically. We'll need people who either live in or are willing to travel to these states to win. So this is a poll of where you are or will be if you will campaign for the nominee, + if you are not in any of the swingstates and where to travel to a swingstate what region or cluster of swingstates would that be.
I ask this because the 15-17 states that are considered to be swingstates as of this writing are sort of clustered together.
For example, if you're in inland southern California you'd best be used campaigning in Arizona or the Las Vegas Area, if you're in Northern California you'd best be used and most likely to travel to Oregon or Northern + central Nevada.
The basic question is, what are you closest too, if you're considering campaigning or working for the nominee(Kerry or Edwards)
I'm not including AR, LA, or NC because I'm assuming Kerry will be the nominee, and not Edwards, who I think would make those swingstates

5. Well, just vote for where you would be most likely to travel too |
|
If you're in Chicago, it would probably be Wisconsin, if you're in the southern part of it, it would probably be Iowa or Missouri

9. Bush has no chance of getting Illinois. |
|
Gore won Illinois by about the same margin he won California. I expect a similar result, if not larger for the Democrat, in 2004.

I find out from everybody but Michigan (already in) April 1st. I figure I'll be near either NH (ME is NOT a swing state this election-solid dem) or WV/VA (neither is PA-solid dem but VA WILL be a swinger) or NC (which wont be a swing state-solid bush)
I'll be working for the Democratic nominee, John Kerry.
Edit-ooops, i didn't even consider the midwest, i think mn is the only real swing state in the midwest tho
edit #2-Anyone have any thoughts on where I should go? I could use the help...and I think the differences at this point are so small (i'd be perfectly happy at any of the schools im applying to) that being close to an important swing state could actually matter to me when i choose a school

12. Maine is too a swingstate, and WI and IO are more than MN |

Gore won Maine with under 50 percent if I recall correctly
About where to go to college, I'd chose someplace in a warm Climate, relatively close to a decent sized city. I go to U of Miami. I got into Tulane and U of Virginia as well

I'm in California now, but I think I'm going to Indiana..with any luck maybe I can get myself over to Ohio to work for the nominee.
