Kerry inherits support of county's leading Democratics (Maryland)
As Maryland's presidential primary nears, Howard County's Democratic leaders, once backers of former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean and retired Gen. Wesley Clark, are lining up behind the front-runner, Massachusetts Sen. John Kerry.

"I jumped ship from Dean, and I'm supporting Kerry," County Council member Ken Ulman said.

"John Kerry is going to be the nominee and it's time to rally around the nominee," Del. Neil Quinter, a former Clark supporter, added.

Kerry's Maryland campaign last week released a list of the candidate's Howard County supporters. It includes all three of the Democratic County Council members, five of the six Democratic state delegates and State's Attorney Tim McCrone.

County Executive Jim Robey was not on the list, but an aide said Robey supports Kerry.

1. Democratic is an adjective, Democrat is a noun
I know we hate it when the right calls us the "Democrat Party", but it's equally absurd when we refer to our members as "Democratics".

2. Kerry picks up more endorsements in NY

~snip~
Kerry, who also visited the borough to pick up the endorsement of the powerful Queens County Democratic Organization, thanked U.S. Rep. Gregory Meeks (D-St. Albans) for his early support before talking to an audience of hundreds about the economy, education and health care.

“New York may have gotten A-Rod, but I have got Greg Meeks,” the senator said in reference to the Yankees’ recent acquisition of Major League Baseball superstar Alex Rodriguez.

The Queens County Democratic Organization’s outpouring of support for and endorsement of Kerry came just days after the group’s first choice, former Gov. Howard Dean, dropped out of the race following losses in all of the early primary contests. Kerry, the front-runner in the race to challenge incumbent President George W. Bush, spoke to hundreds of his newfound supporters at the town hall event.

“We are ready for March 2,” Kerry said of the state’s Super Tuesday primary election. “This is the most important election in our generation.”

4. Inherits? So is this passed down from DLC-er to DLC-er or what?
Notice their "enthusiasm." He's the winner, so we gotta support him. Never mind that 70% of the delegates have yet to be chosen...

And their machines are "certified." Guess they aren't up to speed on what "certified" really MEANS.

This place needs help.
