a man or woman who's held a job before.

Sharpton will NOT get a job in ANY administration. Nor should he.

48. Here, Here!!
Good call, HuskerDem. Sharpton would kick ass as White House Press Secretary! At least we'd get a good laugh... Kind of reminds me of the fun I had watching Don Rumsfield press conferences back in the early days of this administration.

John Kerry: President
Wes Clark: VP
John Edwards: AG
Dick Gephardt: Sec. of Labor
Dean: Surgeon General (Think about it... Can't you just picture Dean as SG when you hear "The Surgeon General says..."?
Sharpton: White House Spokesmen

Lol... Anyways... Rev. Sharpton, :yourock:

Best,

21. I don't think Sharpton could be counted on to maintain the status quo

He doesn't only dislike bush, he disagrees with bush's policies.

While Kerry is a much better speaker than bush, and much more telegenic, with oratory talents that enable him to make even the most appalling and horrific aspects of US policy sound more palatable to affluent Americans, I don't think that will be enough for Sharpton.

38. Sharpton doesn't want to be part of ANY administration.
His ability to speak his mind is his primary strength. Working for "the man" can lead you into places you don't want to go. Look what happened to Colin Powell, once a respected leader, now little more than a ten dollar whore for the Bush administration.

Sharpton would love to be offered a post, so he could tell everyone why he turned it down.

As for Secretary of Education? The man has zero qualifications for a job like that.

It seems Rev Al has spent the campaign cruising the country, staying in the country's finest hotels, running up huge roomservice bills, & generally living the high life, while not having the money to pay for all this luxury.

Sharpton is a clown... he's not a serious politician. He's a media whore who is good with the one-liners, but do we really want him setting any POLICY? C'mon... we're not THAT far gone, are we?

There is no cabinet position that he even minimally qualified for.

It would be a horrible decision to hire him for anything.

49. Secretary of Slander
In 1998 Sharpton was ordered to pay Steven Pagones $65,000 in damages for slander for explicitly implicating the young prosecutor in the rape of Tawana Brawley. Before the trial Sharpton had said, "We stated openly that Steven Pagones ... did it ... if we're lying, sue us"<1>. Sharpton refused to pay. In January 2001 after Pagones had collected only $15,000 from Sharpton's garnished salary, a group of wealthy African Americans stepped in to pay.
