The Clintons, Obama, and the current "race issue." |
|
What is sad about all this hoopla over the Clinton's comments is that by creating an issue on race where none exists, Obama and his supporters who are using this against Hillary Clinton could very well succeed at costing her the nomination, but it will guarantee Obama's defeat in the fall. If America thinks they're going to be spending the next 4 years listening to black leaders or Obama's spokespeople accusing everyone who questions or criticizes a President Obama as being racist in intent, or having racist "overtones," etc., etc., then they will gladly flock to McCain for cover in the general election. I think they call it cutting your nose to spite your face. Obama better douse this fire immediately.

4. He's in danger of becoming "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" |
|
If nominated, and when the GOP starts firing up the racist machine that gave us Willie Horton, complaints of racism will be so worn out no one will listen anymore.
(Don't cry Wolf! please, over Aesop's use of the word 'boy'.)

9. I'm afraid the entire Democratic Party will suffer. |

And we could very well end up with another Republican president.

6. When all is said and done Obama is the one who's going to suffer for |
|
this shit. His campaign needs to ensure that race is not an issue, that he is (which is true) just like any American running for president. If people keep playing the race card like this many will never even consider him. Clinton made a really clumsy statement which had nothing to do with MLK. But some people jumped on it and are running it into the ground.
This is cheap shot politics at its best. And I don't want either Clinton near the White House. But this shit will help guarantee it.

8. But if Hillary loses her black supporters in a tight primary season... |
|
it could cost her enough votes in enough states to put Obama over the top. Then he would lose in the general election for the reasons I mentioned in the op.

10. Again, this is being driven by the MSM, not Obama. |
|
Please don't delude yourself that the Obama campaign (or any of them) makes decisions based on the rantings and ravings on this forum.

11. What threads like this seem to forget, is that DEMOCRATS do not appreciate marginalizing the races.. |
|
this will not blow up on Obama, because he is taking the highroad. JJjr made one comment, and I'm sure will not be commenting again. Obama will be fine if he keeps doing what he is doing and Hillary Clinton is showing her true colors.
