Tonight's Debate Changed My Vote For Tuesday
...from Edwards to Kerry.

I still like Edwards but he was looking like a VP tonight, IMO. I know Kerry doesn't have a lot of fans here but boy he can hold his own in a debate, I had sort of been resigned to voting for him in the General, but now I will do so happily, and vote for him in the primary too.

Something about him tonight just struck me as wow -- that is the next President of the United States. I can see it!! I really think he is gonna kick W's behind back to the Ranch, and the prospect thrills me to pieces.

4. I agree
I thought he looked good (he didn't look totally exhausted which gives the apperance of being energetic) and I liked what he had to say. I get pissed when it seems like the so called "moderators" try to nail them all but that just how it goes. I didn't know he was against the death penalty which I am too. That maked me even more pro-Kerry. I too can see him as our president and I'd be proud to have him.

12. Larry King, King Of the Assclowns
I am so sick of them just going for the dumb stuff -- you disagreed with Edwards, does that mean he's a liar? Etc....when they routinely let GWB & co. get away literally with murder all the time.

I haven't been able to stomach Larry King since I saw his interview with Karen Hughes after the SOTU adress OMG....he's all like, Karen you look marvelous. I like your hair. That type of shit and letting her act like Chimpy hit a home run, oh brother...

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON ANNA NICOLE SMITH AND LARRY! That was GROSS...

2. Kerry's Presidential
Strong, thoughtful, composed, and does have a slight laid back charm, big smile.

He looks like he's moving into the WH tomorrow.

6. He does have a "laid back charm" I like your depiction!
I think Edwards would be great as VP. I wonder if they have too much animonsity though? I think who Kerry picks will be more important than any running mate ever chosen in the history of our country. There's so much at stake.

24. I did not get that at all. If Edwards would make the best VP if Jk wins...
Edited on Fri Feb-27-04 08:17 AM by flpoljunkie
he will pick him. Edwards is a talented politician, and he is young; these factors would certainly put him on the short list.

5. Good choice!
I totally agree.....he's the real deal. Not totake away from John Edwards, but I just believe Kerry is a stronger candidate against the Team Bush.

I think you're wrong about the Kerry supporters, though. Most of them are staying out of the forum. Most just won't bother arguing with people who seek to kneecap the people's choice.

13. Hi Jim!
You agree with the Freepers! Ha!

I was just over at FR checking out what they had to say about the debate. They were all rooting for Edwards, but they admitted that Edwards didn't look up to the job.

I agree with you & the Freepers!

Kerry looked good tonight.

But Kerry would look even better with Wes Clark as VP.

17. Kerry did a lousy job.
Several got the better of him..Sparpeton, Kerry's GOP votes, King- you were suckered; Kucinich, over no regrets comments.
The other day, Michael Parrenti called him 'wooden'Parrenti also said he will be forced to vote for Kerry.
3 or 4 times Kerry looked humiliated. I expect no better a debater of Kerry than Gore turned out to be. Hope these debates gets Kerry's answers more polished for the big one.
Everyone thought Gore would whip Dubya's arse in a general debate.
I expect no more from Kerry from what I saw tonight.

I much prefer his position to Edwards's on the death penalty.

23. I agree that Edwards was not up to his usual standard
Edited on Fri Feb-27-04 07:22 AM by quinnox
I was surprised at how low-key and lacking fire Edwards was compared to previous debates.

I would almost suspect there has been some sort of deal made, because Edwards looked like he was preparing to accept defeat. He even made a joke about Kerry being his vice-president, and laughed about it along with Kerry. {As if saying, "yea right, like I will be president"}

DK may not have the botox, ties and manicure but he does own the issues.
