You know who Kucinich reminds me of: Casey from Grapes of Wrath |
|
Watching DK in the debate reminded me of the scene when Casey was ranting about the injustices towards migrants by rich Californians, and how there needs to be change in America to fight for the working class. Casey was threatened by vigilantes and killed for being a "red" or a "Socialist". The way Larry King called DK a Socialist somehow reminded me of that.

It was a pretty scary thing, in my opinion, and I don't know where that was coming from. It's not okay the way Larry King treated Kucinich, the lack of time he got, the strange conference table set up, everything seemed aimed at marginalizing Kucinich. I am not comfortable with Larry King's use of the word socialist. After all, he didn't call Kerry's strange health insurance plan "corporatist" or anything. Kerry's health plan sounds an awful lot to me like the government subsidizing insurance costs of corporations, at the expense of taxpayers and to the advantage of Insurance companies. I think they need to have REAL debates. It's just not okay for the corporate media to have such a heavy role in these debates. Its compromised. They have their own monopolistic interests. What a sad time it is in our country when the elections have been, esentially, rigged by profit and power.
