From the Bush book of dirty tricks ...
Edited on Sat Feb-28-04 11:13 PM by Andromeda
I predict that within a month or so from the November election that the Bush administration will announce that it has captured Osama bin Laden.

This rumor has been circulating around but nobody seem to be talking about it much.

What do you think?

To look good.

But how is it a "dirty trick"?

9. My point was that it would be a dirty trick
if they have known all along where Osama was and kept it quiet in order to release the information at a more strategic time to benefit Bush.

4. European Press seems to thing something's up with OBL
Edited on Sat Feb-28-04 11:04 PM by Capn Sunshine
Remember, it's only a dirty trick if you get caught

"U.S., Pakistan Deny Bin Laden Was Captured --Pentagon and Pakistani officials on Saturday denied an Iranian state radio report that Osama bin Laden was captured in Pakistan's border region with Afghanistan "a long time ago." The director of Iran radio's Pashtun service, Asheq Hossein, said he had two sources for the report. The radio quoted its reporter as saying bin Laden had been in custody for a period of time, but a U.S. announcement of the capture was being withheld by Dictator Bush until closer to the November election. "Osama bin Laden has been arrested a long time ago, but Bush is intending to use it for propaganda maneuvering in the presidential election," he said.

11. Thanks for the link, Capn...
This is BIG. I wonder why the news media isn't talking about this report? Not the first time there's been a news blackout on information detrimental to the resident.

5. begin collecting evidence to that effect now...
...so that Bushians efforts can be exposed for the naked political opportunism that they are. Furthermore, having OBL in custody, but continuing to terrorize the American people. That certainly says something about Bush's priorities. Speculation is that Rumsfelds recent visit to Afghanistan (much like Bush's trip to Iraq, just prior to the Saddam unveiling), was to check on the tall guy on ice.

6. I think
it'll be at the time of the GOP convention in NYC. This will enable the Bushistas to milk 9/11 one last time.

Look for Ronnie Reagan to die in October.

8. This could help him.
Bush is loosing ground and will continue most likely. How can the American people see through this? They may get really tired of 9/11 by then that they feel like it is old news and they just want their jobs and the lives they had before the Chimp ever became the President.

12. Easy to counter.
We just need to start saying, "Look, Osama is, at best, lkiving in a cave. Yet terrorist attacks continue. Bush not only missed the chance to decimate Al Queda but is also giving their recruitment a huge boost by pissing of every Arab on earth.

13. I would be pretty surpised
if it didn't happen. I think that the Democrats should be proactive in putting together contingency plans which deal with that scenario.

They should talk about it before it actually happens so that the idea will be planted in the minds of the public that it is a blatantly political move. They should be well prepared for what to say when it actually does happen.

There is no reason that they should be taken by surprise by this development, or plan to give up on getting elected if it happens, since it almost certainly will.

14. what evidence do you have that this will be a dirty trick?
the dem candidates for the past year and especially after saddam's capture have been screaming that the war on terror is a failure because bin laden is still loose.

once saddam was captured and the effects were digested, (support bumped for bush) the "oh shit" factor sunk in. "hell, if osama gets caught right b4 the election we're dead meat". that's the reason this has been floating around- I will change my mind when there is proof otherwise.

all these conspiracy theories and ideas that end up going nowhere, remind me of the clinton haters- drug running in mena, murder lists, vince foster, ron brown, clinton's supposedly illegitimate black love child, hillary is a lesbian, plans for world gov't,...etc...etc. They ended up making every clinton opponent look like a loon.

just today on this forum,---- peak oil is a sign that Rapture is upon us, oil crises this year to lead to an emergency ANWAR drilling program, right wing is imploding because mind control isn't working anymore, gay marriage Vs "the Passion" is the "showdown of the century" (4 yrs into it),... that's just a short cruise thru....

possibility does not equal fact.

but it is possible some people will be seen as loons.

16. I suggest you follow the link in my post
Its Yahoo news showing an AP service story. Apparently some in the press, albeit foreign, do not fear being seen as loons.

How many surprises do you need before coincidence isn't an excuse?

17. "european press" ? = Iran
just one look at yor sig line; cheney=satan, should have told me to ignore your response.

yahoo and ap are reporting on the denial and the fact that they were unable to confirm the report. one of the so called sources says he was misquoted, and the other is not named. wouldn't be the first time the gov't run Iranian news agency was delusional.

15. I guaran-damn-tee ya
Osama will be "caught" before the election in November.

How long did Smirk's bump in approval ratings last after Saddam was caught? Two weeks? A month? Bet on Osama to get "caught" within 2 weeks or a month of the election. Or if something damning about the white house hits the news beforehand (i.e. 9/ll report, Plame endictments, etc.) they will "catch" Osama to distract us and overshadow any negative news coverage about other pesky matters.

Mark my words though, they'll have him before November. Osama will not be an issue in the general election.
