Rich People Prefer Kerry to Bush
Poll: 'Investor class' favors Kerry

Money/ICR poll shows that Democrat has narrow edge over Bush; health care seen as top issue.

The nation's investors give Democratic presidential contender John Kerry a slight edge over President Bush, according to a new poll that also shows health care costs and deficit reduction are investors' most pressing concerns.

A poll conducted by Money magazine and International Communications Research (IRC) shows 41 percent of the investors surveyed favor the senator from Massachusetts, while 40 percent favor the president.

3. or perhaps a sign
that yet another segment of the population is turning against bush. Given the sorry state of the economy, and the ridiculous reports they are putting out that are so blatant in their attempt to reframe discussions and avoid doing anything policy-wise to address real problems, I think it is a reasonable guess that this turn in support has more to do with going against Bush... than any perceived 'puppetness' of Kerry.

Nothing wrong with having a strong economy. Keep your revolution- the American people want stability- jobs, healthcare, etc...

2. since when was wealth a bad thing in this country?
So, the wealthy like Kerry and Bush about evenly. If anything, this signifies that Bush's weakensses are more prevasive than once thought. We shouldn't punish these people for having the forsight to know that healthcare in this country is wack and Bush is terrible.

4. People don't get rich by being stupid
& they know the economy is in a mess.

Budget deficit & huge trade deficits are not good things for rich or poor.

6. Amazing
considering Bush has all but set them up.

Tax cuts targeted at them, a shift in focus to payroll versus capitol gains, this really surprises me.

Good to have at least part of the invester class on board.

9. Amazing2
Bush has had little effect on me nor did Clinton. Fiscal policy of the USA has been reckless for better than 45 years. The wealthy will do well in just about any economy because they typically look forward rather than dwell on the negatives. Bush will lose because he is reckless and many people perceive him to be so. Kerry will be no better. If change is to be made, it must start at the local levels. Only then will it permeate to the top.

14. Bush* Doesn't Benefit Most Wealthy People, Only His Friends
> Tax cuts targeted at them, a shift in focus to payroll versus capitol gains

...and a busted economy, so there isn't so much income to tax, unless
you are in Bush*'s inner circle and get to loot the Treasury.

Most wealthy people would prefer the Clinton economy to Bush*'s tax cuts.

24. Most wealthy people
would prefer to be left alone when it comes to politics. Unless of course the public eye can give you some needed attention. ( ie celebrities, etc.). There are millions of wealthy people in this country who pay their taxes (plenty), raise their families, support viable charities, help their fellow man and yet they get berated, spit on and chastised. Why?

There is a growing sector of 'wealth' that is becoming increasingly frustrated by the Bush administration and the out of control spending, trade imbalance, weak dollar. There is only one problem. There aren't any candidates (viable ones) who will do any better. Kerry is no different than Bush. He lies and hides from his actual record. John Edwards made his money suing insurance companies and corporations all the while making our rates go up because he loved the fat settlements. Believe it or not folks, character does matter and nobody in this race has any......... I want Bush out of the WH, I don't see anyone who can do it. Kerry is the only one who has a shot and I think by November things will be looking up enough for Bushie to slide by...............

7. So?? Until the day when the poor are able
run for president (when our current system changes), we will always have a wealthy person in the White House.

The point is that Kerry, unlike Bush, isn't trying to f**k the poor and middle class. With monkey boy at the helm, most reasonable people know that if the entire economy goes to hell, they are going with it, no matter how much money they have.

11. They put "investor class" in quotes for a reason
Quote:

"Investors" for the ICR study were defined as anyone who said yes to the following question: "Do you have or own stocks, mutual funds, bonds, a 401(k) account or an Individual Retirement Account (IRA)?"

16. Rich People???
So you read "Investor Class" and start barking? From the article you failed to even read....

We think investor households -- which may account for as many as 125 million Americans -- are absolutely worth watching, not least because they might surprise us this year,"

Paying for their own healthcare, the poll suggests, is investors' biggest personal concern. Fifty-five percent of all investors, ranging from households making less than $25,000 to those making $75,000 or more, agree that paying for health care is much more worrisome than losing their jobs, paying their debt or losing money in the market.

If your intent is to start a "class war", at least know who the fuck the enemy is......

many who rail against the system seem to have no problem that their own 401k, pension plan or those of large unions are largely invested in the companies they seem to hate.

21. Proves you don't have to be stupid to be rich?
The trajectory that we're on regarding the trade imbalance, the deficit, the healthcare crisis and the potential destruction of the middle class is not even going to benefit the very rich forever. It's going to lead to one hell of a meltdown if someone doesn't take charge and Bush has demonstrated that his administration won't do that.

I'm really looking forward to Kerry officially getting the nomination. It will be interesting then to see if the Kerry bashers keep it up. If so I hope it won't be tolerated by DU. If it is I'm definitely outta here.

Really, this is pretty goofy, even as knuckleheaded class warfare goes.

It's one thing to be critical of a system of corporate unaccountability or a two-tiered education system, but being against rich people's a little silly.
