Let's face it. The military-industrial complex owns the elections.
GE is part of the military industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about. They have taken over the electoral process and shall only allow airtime to those who will not fight them.

What we've read about is now blatant. They are that arrogant. They are that much in control.

May such blatant disregard for Democracy and the Constitution cause people to back Dennis Kucinich by the millions and millions.

4. Kucinich has been in over a dozen debates and his support is still in the single digits
Eventually it is time to separate the serious candidates from the jokes. He had his shot again. I'm sure that they will let him participate in the early debates next time too.

6. He was invited by MSNBC and then at the last minute, denied. He won't sign the Texas loyalty oath.
He is against the Patriot Act, the invasion of Iraq, the destruction of the Constitution, and corporate control of the country. He is for immediate impeachment. We can't afford yet another year of these clowns furthering war and those who profit from war, and the destruction of our civil liberties.

That millions won't support these things, and do not care about the fact that it is clearly corporate control of the media deciding who is heard, and thus, who is elected, scares me very badly.

How can people not care about this? The corporate-owned MSM are denying our most very basic civil liberties. Do people not care that they are being blatantly manipulated into selecting who the corporations want to be president?

Dennis should be included whether he wins or not. The issues he fights for are imperative, and the "big three" dem candidates don't seem to care.

If there would be a way of forcing them to divest themselves of military interests through some sort of stockholder action?

I know, I know, probably crazy. Just thought I'd throw it out there and see if anyone knows more about this sort of thing than I.

34. There is always the potential to re-tool war industry for positive goals.
Logging workers retrained, and factories re-built for recycling paper, etc.

Some DUers have done excellent posts regarding these potentials.

If they want money, we can find ways for them to make money, that benefit people instead of killing them.

8. Come on.
Kucinich was in the earlier debates and there were cutoffs for those too. There are still something like 100 "official" candidates for the presidency, so you have to cut the least serious.

Like it or not, Kucinich has not resonated with the public and it's not from lack of exposure.

9. Please . . .
It IS from lack of exposure and, as a result, lack of financial support to get his message out since that is what seems to get people's attention these days. Furthermore, his time on those debates were severely limited. He was lucky to get 5 minutes when he would squeeze in responses, that is when they even bothered to ask him something. So, spare me the canard that he had "ample opportunity" to have his voice heard. That is just plain BS.

10. Dennis had as much opportunity as any candidate drawing 2% support
What's your solution? Give all 100 candidates an hour? Where do you draw the line? Like it or not, cutoffs are required. A candidate needs to build some support base before they can expect the media to cover them. In fact, Kucinich with his 2% has probably had more air time than any other 2%er. He's been on numerous television shows, he's been running since 2004, and he's been in the other media too.

In fact, name me one other candidate with as little support that has had as much attention for as long as Kucinich.

16. He's been at 4 and 5%, which is more than the other 100 you mention.
He fulfilled the requirements of NBC, but was excluded at the very last moment. No one can say why, and no one will contest this utterly unreasonable exclusion. I have the feeling that Dennis would fight for any other legit candidate who had experienced the same thing. Shame on the "big three" for their complicity in something so undemocratic.

Please look into GE's ownership of MSNBC and NBC, and Dennis' track record against the Iraq war and the very obvious $2trillion that has been moved from the US Treasury into war-maker's hands. Those who profit from war just -might- have an agenda against those who want to stop them from profiting.

Sounds like he has some support here, and more importantly, is willing to say what other candidates will not. Please take a short 1:50 Dennis break:

Personally, I enjoy being on the side of the only one to vote against the "Patriot Act", the Iraq war, and who is pushing for impeachment. Call me crazy.

What you have to connect, with evidence (not just motivation, such as it is) is the 'Military-Industrial Complex and 'taking over the electoral process.' You don't even try - just make a vapid claim about ownership of one of the cable/network outlets.

Gee - could you be a little more sophomoric?

Alright.

I encourage you to research this. I wish that I had the time to present an extremely detailed argument backed up with links, etc., but I have to take it as given that people, especially DUers, know that the MSM are owned by corporate entities who have a say in their content. Quite so. Disney and GE and other corporations have had inconvenient stories killed. It's not a new thing... They manipulate what we see and hear. You cannot choose what you are not aware of.

Dennis speaks to an immediate end of funding for the Iraq invasion. GE is a war machine. The Bush family profit from war/reconstruction/oil. There is an agenda in place to continue war profit, without end. That those who are most vocally against it find themselves excluded (after having met criteria and having been invited)...

This is exactly what Eisenhower warned us about.

Edit: Doesn't anyone remember no-bid contracts to Halliburton, Cheney's old company, and all of his stock? Or both the Bushes and the Bin Laden family having stock in what was it, Bechtel?

36. Here's an even better one from FAIR
NBC Uninvites Kucinich
http://www.fair.org/index.php?page=3246

FTA:

It's also worth noting that NBC--like most other corporate media outlets--has had little time for Kucinich's campaign from the start, deciding long ago that the candidate was simply not viable (FAIR Media Advisory, 5/8/07). Kucinich's name has been mentioned only a few times in passing on NBC Nightly News, and Kucinich--unlike six other Democratic candidates--has yet to appear as part of Meet the Press's "Meet the Candidates" series.

In other words, they are deliberately marginalizing Kucinich.

15. All of the republican candidates are for continuing the highly profitable invasion.
So long as all of the candidates will support those continuing profits, what else do they care?

GE owns the network that excluded Dennis at the last minute. He is the only one working for immediate withdrawl from Iraq. GE profits from war.

Or do you not believe that a powerful corporation would act in its own interest?

That is where the manipulation is (currently) kicking in.

All of the candidates are for continuing the invasion (or are giving its end mere lip service).

Now it's your turn. Does $2 trillion dollars leeched from the US Treasury and debt to China (we pay the bill any way it ends up) moved into war profiteer's hands say anything to you about the powers that be, and their motivations? Cheney and Halliburton? Bush and KBR?

Will they do nothing to ensure their continued gravy train, the exact one Eisenhower warned us about? Bush, their close friend, also directly profits from war and reconstruction, as well as the increasing oil monopoly. They're in power, making laws benefiting themselves and their friend's corporations (record Exxon profits).

Their main concern is continous profit. Tell me about those who aim to stop them.

A better hypothesis is that people either dislike DK's message, doubt DK's competence, and/or dislike his personality.

27. That is fair enough (thanks for a breath of fresh air)
but I find that Dennis' message and priorities are imperative, and at minimum, should be a continuous aspect of the primaries and the debates. He was excluded for no reason at the last second, and I lament the silencing of his message to any degree.

I wish that other Americans would fight as fervently to end the Iraq invasion and the reckless spending and debting involved, among other issues. I don't hear the other candidates having this as a priority. In watching the economy, and fearing the debt that BushCo have assembled, I wish to make certain that these concerns are given even the minimum airtime.

I care about that and will continue to be extremely verbal about it, as I have been since 2003.
