Poll question: Edwards supporters - Still backing & voting JOHN 100% of course but has Hillary moved to #2 for you?
I just feel Barack is falling apart, and in 3 debates now, he appears lacking in substance compared to Hillary and John. I do not want to lose the White House for another 8 years (that would be 36 years of Repub rule in 48 years!) because we put forth a candidate in Obama who cannot handle the medium-level attacks that Clinton & Edwards bring forth. The GOP attacker they put forth will not be ask kind as Edwards and to some extent, Clinton, are to Obama. The references to his full name, his mixed race, coinciding with his inability, in my single opinion, to speak without prepared statements without blundering compliments of the GOP and Reagan, um ums every few sentences, and puzzled looks make me believe McCain or Romney would shred him - and that's without all those other factors I mentioned. The way he has allowed the ex-gay ministry to also be represented on his campaign stage is another troubling aspect of not believing he is the best we have got to run.

If there's Edwards supporters out there who really feel Obama can win, let me know, and let me know why I should ignore the other issues with him. Part of me just doesn't want to vote, and I've voted every 2 years forever. But something just is very disheartening about this time around. We should have very passionate, well spoken, progressive candidates who appear ready to lead, and as of right now - I only see the Lady and the Southerner showing that ability. Regardless of the negatives I have with Mrs. C (imperial family dynasties being one big one & corporate donations being the other), she's pulled noticeably ahead of Mr. O in the past few weeks for obvious reasons.

1. I'm going to withhold my decision
on that until if/when Edwards drops out. I'm not terribly enthusiastic about either Clinton or Obama, but I will vote for either in the general. I hope I don't have to.

2. I broke out in a heavy sweat when I read what he said about Reagan.....
... then when I heard his health care was not universal, I almost had to reach for smelling salts. Obama has been giving me too many right wing jolts trying to pander to right wingers. My health is constantly compromised with him!

6. I know... it's getting to be that he really appears too middle of the road
for me, and backing the GOP to get votes like he did in NEV combined in the very week with the news of that Bush spiritual advisor backing Obama and finding out he in charge of an exgay group, and he was at the "Gospel Tour" and is planning more "help" for Obama is really slugging me in the gut in regards to being Edwards backup for me.

The health issue is something every American with little money or no money should be paying attention to from all these candidates and questioning them about when they see them.

18. His Reagan and "party of ideas" comments, the Obamacans thing, etc
His announced game plan is that the left is a given, so his focus here out is the independents and the republicans.

All the more power to him, but I am left of left, not right of center.

17. I am pretty much
In the same boat as you. Hillary never has had me, and I could have voted for Obama, but would not have had my heart in it. Now Obama is looking just as bad as Clinton, maybe worse in some areas, so I am a one man supporter, and that is John Edwards all the way! I really don't know what I would do if it came down to Hillary or Obama. Obama's supporters don't help much either. There blind loyalty really scares me, I have seen that kind of thing before, and I don't like it.

5. Edwards is my second choice
And my third, fourth and fifth. The others can't be compared, and I can't settle on a "winner". Even if Edwards does drop out, it will not matter to me. I will still vote for him no matter what the situation is.

Thankfully, Edwards is staying all the way until the convention.

Edwards 2008!!!

7. Nope- (and I don't really have a 2nd choice right now)
One big reason why I can't support Hillary?

9. I am less than thrilled with either candidate.
Both have major flaws. Only in the GE would I be able to vote for one of them.

Voting third party is political suicide if you consider yourself a Dem.

10. Hell no to Hillary in the primary! ABC all the way!
She and her husband are power-hungry assholes and her supporters remind me of Bushbots. I'm talking the ones I know IRL more so than on the internets. I can always tell when a woman is a Hillary supporter by the pursed lips and the pole jammed up her ass. When you point out her high negatives or the obnoxious entitled behavior of the Clintons you get this blank Stepford Wife-ish stare from them. Then they regurgitate talking points or tell you that none of that matters because she's a woman and you have to vote for her out of solidarity. It's goddamn creepy. I'll hold my nose and vote for her in the general but I won't do a damn thing on her campaign. She won't get a thin dime from me either.

12. Can't vote here.
There are too many negatives about C. & O. that keep me from choosing either. Frankly I wish they would both drop out and let the one who is passionate about the common people be the nominee. It would be the noble thing for them to do. They don't hold a candle to Edwards I.M.O.

13. No, the other two don't, do they. :(
John is so amazing, I'd be shocked if a watching TV audience (esp. in SC) of 5 million nationally, didn't find John to be the most presidential and ready with the facts. He should go up 3-5 points easy from that incredible performance. He even made a few comments that weren't truly jokes, but we're delivered so perfectly that their sarcasm or the way he delivered them were hilarious and received loud applause!

JOHN 08!

And it's safe to see from what I can tell, many people feel the way you do, and if they don't Obama is still their #2, but Hillary is doing better than she would have done 1 month ago with this question. Obama's got some 'splainin to do with recent comments, choices.

14. Here's Johnny
Edwards has demonstrated that he is not weak, will stand up and declare his stand on important issues and in my opinion came across last night as someone who will stand up to his opponents and not hem and haw around. I think he will make a fine prez and as far as who will be number two-well, I am swaying more toward Obama but are still undecided. I really do think that Edwards certainly did open a few eyes last night. Maybe now the main stream media will admit that are more than two candidates.

I would be ecstatic if John could pull off an upset in SC, especially now with the CWA endorsement. I don't hold out a lot of hope for that, at this point, but definitely leaning toward Obama as #2. I think he did a rather good job at explaining his Reagan remarks. He never said that the Reagan trajectory was a good one, but no one can deny that there was a "Reagan Revolution", and we're still paying for it now.

Randi Rhodes just said that Hillary lied and distorted what Obama said, but she injects just enough truth to make it seem credible. I cannot, in good conscience, vote for HRC; she is too much of a politician for me.
