Has Clinton Acknowledged That She Cannot Carry A Deep South State? |
|
With Clinton's hasty departure from South Carolina, is the wife of the former (first black) President signalling that she doesn't expect to generate enough enthusiasm in the South to bother with a strategy for the region? Of course, Florida is still in play, but the other Southern states seem hopelessly out of reach for her.
Even if she were to become the eventual nominee, her scorched Earth campaigning is likely to keep alot of Southern blacks at home in November. And without a big turnout on their part, I cannot foresee any Democrat fetching a single delegate from the region.
Both Edwards and Obama would seem perched to drive out Southern Democrats, and should Obama become the eventual nominee, I could easily imagine a huge black turnout across the entire nation.

Then you can proclaim to the world that Hillary the Monster has been vanquished.
After all, you have nothing to fear because you are always right.

9. She won't lose Michigan. |
|
Nor would Edwards.
On the issues, Obama doesn't stand a chance.

2. "the other Southern states seem hopelessly out of reach" |

Any candidate stupid enough to think it will be a cakewalk anywhere is deluded. SC will probably be Obama's easiest victory. None of them thereafter are likely to be easily won at all.
So keep an extra jar of Orville Reddenbacher's handy.

I'm not talking about taking the ENTIRE South, just a state here or there to tip the balance.

6. The south is dominated (in a BIG way) by the Southern Baptist church |

which generally preaches that women must be submissive to men.
I think it's going to be pretty hard to convince a majority of them that a woman should be in charge of everyone including the entire armed forces.

8. Decades ago I was a member of a very conservative Pentecostal church. |

The woman were taught to be very subservient and submissive to the men. I have a feeling, though, that when some of them get into the privacy of the voting booth that they may vote their conscience and decide that a woman should have some power too. There are good and obedient Christian women who inside are resentful of being that way.

had a story reflecting serious stories which show Resistence to OBamo in the deep sourth. This study reflected Obama trailed Clinton and Edwards in Southern States.
