The Tyra Banks interviews
Edited on Thu Jan-24-08 04:19 PM by timeforarevolution
I'm clueless about this. I mean, I know who she is, but I'm rather baffled as to why her show has become the venue for candidate interviews.

That's actually my first question. I know Hillary was on, and I heard John is on tomorrow. Is Barak going to appear? If so, when?

Does anyone have any insight regarding how this came about? Is her show gaining a lot of respectability across various demographics or something?

I have a teenage daughter, and I'm aware of the good things she's been doing regarding self-esteem and body image, but I wasn't aware her show would be seen as a helpful venue for presidential candidates.

Is she going to have repub candidates on as well? Surely not...lol.

Also: What was the general response to Hillary's interview? I don't recall seeing anything about it after the interview was over.

3. I want to hug you for saying...
"younger women under 40" - makes me feel not as old to be slightly over 40. lol.

2. The candidates want to reach out to young women voters
which is a group that probably doesn't vote as much as other demographic groups.

I know two young women, 18 and 19 and they've never voted or even registered to vote.
They seem totally uninterested in voting (as do their parents.) *sigh*

4. It'll be interesting to see if it translates into action.
Maybe this was more about Tyra's goals more than her current audience. If so, I give her credit.

BTW, beautiful picture of the horse. :hi:

5. I hope that women of all ages and races and classes come out to vote.
We are the MAJORITY after all! ;)

BTW, The horse is my filly's sire! He's an Oldenburg which is a German warmblood breed. The picture was taken at his 100 day stallion test in Germany! He is fantastic!
Cotton looks just like him (but not as big - he's 17 hands!)
