Thousands expected in Atlanta for Edwards, Clinton bash
If Georgia's Democratic Party hopes to turn this red state at least a nice shade of purple, it all starts Wednesday.

Thousands of Democrats are expected to descend on Atlanta and the Georgia World Congress Center Wednesday evening for the party's big annual bash and fund-raiser, the Jefferson-Jackson dinner.

Wednesday's event features two of the three remaining candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination — Hillary Clinton and John Edwards — and kicks off a mad dash to Tuesday's presidential primary. Democrats in other early voting states have seen tremendous changes in 2008. In New Hampshire and in South Carolina, for example, more ballots were cast in the Democratic primaries than in the Republican, a tremendous upset in both states.
