Pay careful attention to criticism against Hillary here..and you will notice the following
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 08:22 PM by bernicewilliams
The bulk of the criticism focuses on trivial things: How she looks at the other candidate, how she is a copycat, "what an ugly shirt color!", how she itched her butt, etc.

Rarely will you read, "Did you hear about what Hillary just said about how to fight the recession"? or "wow. I really hated that health care proposal".

Interesting.

11. Yes. It's better
She deserved to be attacked on her war position. Not on her suit color or having a position identical to another candidate if that position is a good one.

I think there is fair criticism of Hillary, she isn't perfect, especially for DU, but she's a great candidate for us. This is about taking the White House back, and the reality is that a Republican candidate will not be running against Hillary Clinton. He'll be running against Bill & Hillary Clinton. They don't lose elections. Ever.

Hillary Clinton has one hell of a resume too.

~~~~~~~~
Senator Clinton said and did nothing to prevent the Senate confirmation of John Ashcroft.
Senator Clinton said and did nothing to prevent the Senate confirmation of Alberto Gonzales.
Senator Clinton said and did nothing regarding the failed Senate confirmation of John Bolton.
Senator Clinton voted FOR cloture on the nomination of corrupt corporatist Priscilla Owen, clearing the way for her confirmation to the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
Senator Clinton voted FOR cloture on the nomination of unqualified fascist Janice Rogers Brown, clearing the way for her confirmation to the DC Court of Appeals.
Senator Clinton voted FOR cloture on the nomination of religious zealot and homophobe William H. Pryor, clearing the way for his confirmation to the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals.
Senator Clinton voted FOR cloture on the nomination of John Roberts, clearing the way for his confirmation as Chief Justice of the United States Supreme Court.
Senator Clinton said little or nothing during the Senate confirmation of Samuel Alito.
Senator Clinton missed the Senate confirmation vote on Michael Mukasey.
Senator Clinton said little or nothing during this summer's vote on the Iraq War Supplemental.
Senator Clinton said little or nothing during the vote to extend FISA.
Senator Clinton said little or nothing on the Walter Reid scandal, even though she sits on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
Senator Clinton has said little or nothing during the current debate on Telecom Immunity.
Senator Clinton has said little or nothing on the possible impeachment of Dick Cheney.
Senator Clinton has said little or nothing on the possible impeachment of George Bush.
Senator Clinton has said little or nothing on the myriad scandals surrounding the current administration. (Yeah, I'm too lazy to list these one-by-one)
Senator Clinton campaigned for Joe Lieberman against Ned Lamont
Senator Clinton proposed legislation to ban flag burning.
Senator Clinton voted FOR the USAPATRIOT act.
Senator Clinton voted FOR the renewal of the USAPATRIOT Act.
Senator Clinton voted FOR the 2001 Bankruptcy Bill.
Senator Clinton voted FOR Bush's tax cuts.
Senator Clinton voted AGAINST an amendment that would prohibit the use of cluster bombs against civilians.
Senator Clinton voted FOR the Iraq War Resolution.
Senator Clinton voted FOR the Kyl/Lieberman amendment.
~~~~~~~~

Yes, many other Senators have failed to lead on these issues, but they aren't asking for a promotion to the highest office in the nation. As Hillary loves to point out, she is not a newcomer to Washington politics. She says she's "ready to lead" and experienced at fighting the right-wing. Why then, does she always seems to fade into the woodwork whenever a contentious issue comes before the Senate?

40. Bogus.
You're projecting. You're looking for something that isn't there, except in your mind.

There is consistent criticism of Hillary Clinton for the things she has done, the way she has voted, and the way some of her fans behave. Same for Obama.

Why do you make things up? YOU want to make the discussion something unsubtantive. YOU want to drag the level of GDP down. Pick an ISSUE you have with Obama, and tell us about that. But please stop acting like we're a convention of rightwing talk show hosts sitting around a bar slamming Hillary Clinton for her clothes, her body, or her accessories. People here who have a problem with Hillary have POLICY problems with her, not personal problems with her.

Obviously, there is also the handful of the Obama supporters who are striving to find petty disagreements, as you are. You two groups of haters will always find each other, and embarrass the rest of us by behaving badly.

You like Hillary. Talk about that without making up things that come out of your imagination.

41. I would love to read the MoveOn members comments for the 2 candidates
MoveOn has asked its membership to choose between Clinton and Obama. I chose Gore and Edwards but put my dot next to Obama since neither Gore or Edwards were choices.

In not voting for Clinton, I noted her stand on Iraq, her inclusion of profit in her health care proposal, her ties to lobbyists, her ties to the DLC, her tendency to hold her finger to the wind before taking a stand, her ... .

There are so many reasons to not support Clinton--good ones. I suspect that the surface comments that you noted are just manifestations of a particular moment and not the actual reason that motivates the person making the comment.

42. Senator Clinton Is Either Naive or Willfully Ignoring ...
... medical privacy when it comes to her eMed records plan, http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=132&topic_id=4321211&mesg_id=4321211">as evidenced by the significant and recurring privacy breaches of military families' records during the CHCS II rollout.

For a supposed expert on: (1) healthcare issues; and (2) military affairs, I'm at a loss to understand why her thinking on this is stuck.

That is, until I look at who her contributors are, and what http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=vinod+gupta+infousa">those fraudulent data firms might stand to gain.

Don't throw down gauntlets on policy wonk issues if you're not prepared to have it picked up.
