Bookmark this, it may not happen again: Tonight I Like & Respect Hillary Clinton ! |
|
I don't know who this woman was on the stage. I was a supporter and fan for many, many years until the nastiness and ugliness and dishonesty of this campaign turned my stomach against her.
Tonight, the "old" Hillary was back. Where did she go? What happened in the past months? Yes, I have concerns about some of her votes, but aside from the issues, the woman I saw tonight was articulate and well-versed, intelligent and competent and personable (if not unapologetic about her Iraq vote.. she needs to work on the triangulation).
With Edwards out of the race - and don't get me started on that - I will still cast my vote for Obama. But a piece of advice to Hillary: Strident and dishonest does NOT become you. Mark Penn does not become you. Bill Clinton yelling and wagging his finger does not become you. The attack dogs do not become you. You do not need any of them. Just be yourself, please. Be that strong, capable woman we all know you can be, without the triangulation and without the scheming.
Congratulations, Hillary. You did good tonight.

I don't know what a personal attack on me has to do with the debate or this thread.

I just couldn't resist the thought as it came flooding into my head. Maybe I was getting waterboarded? I'm all better now and will behave myself. Maybe I'm having an epiphany Maybe I'm just happy to hear you say something positive about Hillary and just maybe some others will follow your lead. If she wins the primary...that's just the attitude we'll need. Peace to both to you.

I just know better when it comes to the Clintons and their actual record of protecting the fascist agenda and the Bushes. http://consortiumnews.com/2006/111106.html

I am serious about open government - that it bothers some here is no concern of mine. What should a CITIZEN seek to protect in this nation, if not open government?

7. If she explained all the variations |
|
I would agree with you. Of course, there were moments in this debate that I wasn't happy with, such as her "coersive diplomacy" and refusal to explain what went wrong on the Iraq intelligence. And of coures, the health care mandates.

23. She received extremely bad advice previously from Mark Penn |
|
and as a result turned in a devastatingly bad performance. The question seems to be focusing on can Barack Obama prevail as a result of his improved debate performance which was his formal debut to much of the California voting public. The additional question not being asked is can she prevail as a result of her improved performance after discarding all of Mark Penn's advice? What picture will be left with the voters of California on both of these candidates as a result of tonight's televised debate. Tuesday will tell.

29. Yes, she is. And she really does NOT need special interest groups lobbying for |
|
her to get special treatment, or even reminders that she is "a woman". This has been my point all along. The Hillary I knew in the 1990s was a PERSON of remarkable power and intelligence and empathy.. not a "woman". I am not explaining myself well here, I know, but I don't SEE gender or race when looking at leaders. I don't think that race or gender absolves anyone of the responsibility to be the best PERSON they can be, the most honest PERSON they can be. Tonight, Hillary was a LEADER.. genderless, raceless. She was simply, Hillary.

You're right, she really needs to stick with the "old" Hillary. Let's hope she learned her lesson these past couple of weeks and that this new "love fest" is more the norm than not (not that they shouldn't emphasize their differences.)
