What happened to Obama's mother?
What is that story about being denied health coverage due to pre-existing condition?

9. She had started a new job and her new insurance was trying to say
Edited on Thu Jan-31-08 10:22 PM by Pirate Smile
her cancer was a preexisting condition so they wouldn't cover it. That was why she was reading the insurance forms and dying at the same time. Standard crap people in the US have to deal with so he "gets it".

edit to add - he lost both parents quite young - although his dad was never around anyway but he died in a car crash before Obama started Law School.

10. oh no that's awful!
new job and trying to get your insurance to cover your cancer treatments? horrible. i just got portable insurance and it's really liberating. I don't have to stay at this job, I won't lose my insurance if I switch. Freedom! (freelancersunion.org)
