"Saddam was a meglomaniac. He didn't want to compete with bin Laden for attention."
That was part of Hillary's rambling justification for her war vote rather than just admitting she was wrong. If McCain's the Repub. nominee, we MUST have Obama as ours.

1. Did you watch the 60 Minutes special on this. The FBI agent said this.
Why are we bashing Hillary for this.

8. Funny. I don't remember hearing her using that as a justification for her war vote until tonight.

14. She says she wouldn't have voted for it knowing what she knows now. The fact you're defending had
nothing to do with it.

6. So that makes her answer ok? She was asked about her IWR vote.
She rambled on in circles. Even Mark Penn couldn't explain her answer re: what I said in the OP.

7. That 60 Minutes show will be dismissed by those with blinders on.
It was a fascinating show though.

16. I don't recall the FBI agent saying this...
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I didn't hear
the FBI agent on "60 Minutes" ever saying that
Saddam didn't want to compete with bin Laden for
attention.

I'm remembering that he said that Saddam didn't
like bin Laden, but he wasn't really that
concerned about him. He saw him as a radical
extremist and he really didn't take him seriously.

I might have missed something.

Can someone point me to a quote, and I'll look
as well.

9. On the IWR questions she had the poorer by far hand to play
That really is her weakest suit. Regarding the Iraq issue post invasion and looking toward the future she did as well as Obama. Obama did have it right from the begining, it is impossible for her to win on that point.

15. No. Because that was one part of a long, rambling answer that didn't explain her vote.

13. This isn't good, granted, but it's miles above John "100 years in Iraq" McCain.
She'll still be the obvious choice for those who are sick of the war.

18. Uh, Saddam was. He was a bully in Tikrit on the local level and
a cult of personality tool on the national level.

The mustache that so many Iraqi men affected? Statues everywhere (only country w/ more for its leader is Turkey and Ataturk). Trying to link his pedigree to that of the Prophet?

Folks-- she was right on his being a megalomaniac.

Doesn't justify the war by any means, but c'mon. Stop grasping at straws here, folks.
