And the offer will be made public to let the black community know the olive branch was extended. Whether that is the ticket will be up to Barack but I am 100% sure the offer will be extended just for the politics of it all to the black community that their guy wasn't snubbed by Clinton.

3. Harold Ford would be a much better choice

Much more electable. Make it about rewarding black voters and not personalities.

18. Harold Ford? Are you serious (I ask this in all honesty)?
He couldn't even win a Senate seat (which was his for the taking) in his own state!

4. I think he will consider whether or not
Clinton beats McCain... and turn it down.

Then he runs for President in 2012. And wins.

9. This was Gloria Borger's analysis of the situation.
I think he will decline for two reasons. One, if what many say is true and Hillary galvanizes the base of the repubs and the independants don't sway democrat, she could lose. Then in four years, he has another shot at the presidency.

Secondly, why would he want to be vp with Bill Clinton in the whitehouse. Its not a position that will have much clout and if he runs after 8 years, which is what he would have to wait, he will have that talking point to the used against him. "you were marginalized by bill clinton and weren't the real vp".

he will decline.

12. She doesn't want Obama for VP. she wants Clark as VP
If she is nominated, she won't offer it to Obama. She wants a white male military guy that she and Bill can control. That man is Wesley Clark.

14. He should build his own legacy in the Senate if Clinton wins nomination
Why would anyone want to remove a SITTING Senator to be VP?

Obama has a BIG career ahead of him no matter how this turns out. He should Do it on his own terms.

20. Obama's a great choice for her. I doubt he accepts
He is still young, and will have more chances if he so desires.

The problem with accepting is this throws out the central theme of his appeal - that he is going for a new dialogue in washington - a new way of doing business. I don't see how he tosses all that out.
