Is there really any surprise that ANY politician has had his/her hands dirty with shady deals? |
|
Frankly, I wouldn't trust a politician that never did.
Those people are true believers, the last kind folks that anybody should EVER trust.
Shady deals are par for the course in this country... It's the outright illegal ones that everybody should be on the lookout for. (Kickbacks, campaign fund theft, bribes, etc.)

I think that in this country, with the way things are, and have been since it was founded, anyone who gets into politics HAS to be willing to get their hands at least somewhat dirty.

... and here's another theory of mine, based on meeting more than a few of them. They aren't our best and brightest either. We actually make it quite impossible for our best and brightest to win elections, because it's all based on money, money, money. The system is eff'ed up.
