Kucinich recommends Obama & Clinton
Ohio held a straw poll last night. You can read about it in great detail at this post on Daily Kos by Anastasia Pantsios, an excellent, long-time Cleveland-area journalist. Here she notes how now-departed Democratic primary challenger and Ohio congressman Dennis Kucinich - who is fighting for his seat in the 10th district - feels about the two remaining Democratic presidential candidates:

Finally, the organizers gathered all the candidates on stage. They let Dennis, Rosemary and Barbara each have a minute to speak. Dennis said forcefully, “I’ve had the opportunity to campaign with both Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, and they are both worthy candidates and both are ready to serve their country as president.” Good on you, Dennis!

4. I was pretty excited when I first read the headline, did a double take at first.
Kucinich knows that we need to win this election. I respect him more for this.

11. You respect him for pandering to Clinton conservatives who do not share his political ideals?
I guess his seat must really be in trouble. Rest assured that Rahm and
Hillary are working to unseat him and will not be pleased if he retains
his seat. Will he be pleased to see Hillary win? I guess this is all
meaningless political pleasantries. Sad to see a lack of straight talk.

15. Do you have any evidence for your assertion that:
"Rest assured that Rahm and Hillary are working to unseat him and will not be pleased if he retains his seat." Can you give me some assurance so that I may "rest assured"?

5. I suspect last nights debate put a big healing patch on the Dem party

People are going to wait now until Tuesday to see which way the wind blows. Lets see what happens Tuesday and then we can start sorting this out.

6. Good for him -- THIS is how a sitting elected official acts
Edited on Fri Feb-01-08 08:45 AM by LostinVA
I personally don't agree with any SITTING Federal-level elected official endorsing candidates. I think it's divisive and causes a certain dynamic we don't need. Caroline Kennedy, RFK's kids, Nancy Reagan, Jimmy Carter, Al Gore, Poppy Bush, John Edwards -- all okay.

I think maybe Kucinich gets this, and his statement has made me respect him more.

8. Exactly -- we don't need to be playing a daily, "my endorsers are better than yours!" game
Here or in the press.

10. Vintage Kucinich, classy as always
Can't help but recall though that he urged his supporters, which includes me, to support Obama in Iowa where he was precluded from participating.

12. Did Obama come out and say in a debate "And my friend Kucinich should be on every ballot?"

13. The only ballot which he was excluded from was because he refused to promise
to support the Democratic nominee.

17. I don't know why I'm surprised by this but I am.
I think The Democratic Party Leaders have sent out a memo,Stand United, to everyone involved.I just get the feeling that the Democrats are pulling together in a way I've never sen before.Feels good. And I KNOW with as many Kucinich lovers as there are here that his statement about Our two Top Candidates has to mean something.Or atleast it should.
