Clinton surrogates: Obama's mailers = Nazi's marching in IL?!?
This is an odd little bit of politicking.

So, Hillary launched some mailers implying that Obama wants to put a trillion dollar tax increase on "working americans" as his SS policy.(Which isn't true...because the "raising the cap" on SS taxes Obama proposes as a possibility isn't on working americans aka the middle class. Obama has said that if he raises the cap their will be a donut skipping those earning less than 200,000 for the cap raise.)

Anyway that mailer went out before IA and NH. No, I don't have a link... I am sure someone does. It was posted a little bit here also. There was also the "Obama doesn't stand up for women's rights"-mailer that went out in NH. Which twists Obama's Planned Parenthood approved present votes. Obama hit back a little on that mailer. But for the most part kinda let it pass like the SS mailer.

Obama has put out a mailer that criticizes the obvious fine that would be put on people who can't buy insurance -under Hillary's plan. This of course is part of the current debate about health care. It isn't lying about what her plan is entailing. A mandate means punishment. The merits of the plan are at issue. But apparently Hillary can dish out dirty mailers but can't take even clean criticism.

The mailer:

The story behind it:
http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0208/That_healthcare_mailer.html

"I am personally outraged at the picture used in this mailing," said Len Nichols of the New America foundation, a leading supporter of mandatory insurance, who called it a "Harry and Louise evocation."

"It is as outrageous as having Nazis march through Skokie, Illinois," Nichols said. "I just find it disgusting that this kind of imagery is being used to attack the only way to get to universal coverage."

A weird NAZI reference buy a supporter of Clinton's plan. With the usual Clinton camp(good cop) disavowing of the criticism.(bad cop)

18. Indeed. It's endemic to their organization, and runs deep.
It gets so old, and it's so ridiculous. Notice that Wolfson immediately repudiated it, as per the storyboards.

8. Clinton in the gutter??
Does than mean when the Obama camp sent out mailers distorting Clinton's issues and had a devilish looking face of Clinton on the mailer that he's an angel?

Sorry, missed that it was an outside group.

If you support unions how can you support the people who paved the way for all the outsourcing without guaranteeing that labor and environmental laws would be enforced?

15. (sigh) I need to put this in my Journal so people can get a clue
I support Al Gore for President. That being said, I will support 100% and work for the NOMINEE of our party, no matter WHOM that may be.

What I don't support is the hate being slung around DU for both Hillary and Obama, period. And since I support the right of people to organize (those who in most instances are least able to protect themselves) why would you even ask me that question? Because I skewer haters equally?

Thanks for playing. You can go now.

19. Because the rights of people to organize
in China and India were not protected by the Clintons when they had the chance. It took a long time to even get anything done on the Marianas. That's why I ask a supporter of the right to organize that question.

Why don't you just answer it and not be a jerk.

You want to call me names, call me consistent. Piss off. (and it amazes me how people think I'm lying and STILL try and reply thinking I'll see the reply, how dumb).

And how much influence did Tom DeLay have on the Marianas situation? The Republican majority in the House and Senate? They don't give a shit about Union or worker's rights, and neither did Reagan (if you are old enough to remember). Go bitch out Nancy for that one. Lay the blame where it belongs. And stop holding a grudge for Hillary and Bill and just maybe we'll have the trifecta in November.

Go bother someone else.

22. Still won't answer the question
And the Marianas were a problem long before the Republicans took the majority. Face it, the Clintons did not lead on progressive issues in the 90's and won't lead on them now. It's not about holding a grudge, it's about getting the change the world really needs.

Sorry to challenge you to take a stand and not just gripe the way you usually do.

17. Ted Kennedy's view on Barack Obama and universal healthcare.
Obama spokesman Bill Burton responded by pointing to comments by Massachusetts Sen. Ted Kennedy, a longtime champion of universal health care who endorsed Obama earlier this week.

"It's the passion of my life, universal comprehensive health care, and I wouldn't support Barack Obama unless I was absolutely convinced that he was for universal comprehensive health care as well," Kennedy said in a television interview. "I've tried for 38 years to get the universal comprehensive health care. I've supported 12 different proposals to try to get there. Elect Barack Obama and we will get there."

23. The truth is the R's will have a field day saying Dems will force you to buy insurance. Obama
understands this. Ted Kennedy believes Barack Obama can get us there. So do I.
