MoveOn skews poll to deny uncommitted a voice
I got my poll and was appalled to find that the only choices I had were either Hillary or Obama. There should have been a "None of the Above" choice. For all we know the majority of MoveOn members wanted to stay neutral in the primary. I declined to return my poll and I'm not volunteering either for Obama or Clinton before the convention. I guess MoveOn really didn't want their members to have a full voice in the matter.

1. The poll was seeking an endorsement.
You needed to vote on the candidates presented or not at all.

7. when given the choice of one or the other...
and no option to none or other (Edwards) I too declined to participate in the poll...
And it really pissed me off they were using the same methods to cherry pick their results as the corporatists.

2. Chris Bowers and I voted for Hillary as our "No endorsement" vote
because we both felt that Obama would win the poll.

We both put in our comments that we would have preferred "No Endorsement" as a third option.

6. That's what I did.
I really thought MoveOn should stay out of it.

14. I refused to fill it out, too
And I sent MoveOn an email stating why. Interesting they held off on this until we had only an "either or" choice, and not a choice of three - or more. And the exclusion of the "neither" or "other" option was rather telling. Damn, do we have any choices anymore other than those that are cherry picked for us?!

4. you have to be running to get an endorsement
it made sense to only include the two who were running campaigns.

5. They wanted to endorse someone. You can't endorse uncommitted.

9. Then they should publish how many of their 3.2 million members
actually voted in the poll and how many put in comments that they wanted "No endorsement"

11. They did release the numbers. 10% voted, which is about what you'll get with any voluntary
email poll.

19. I just got the email from MoveOn.org about the vote
VOTE RESULTS

Obama: 197,444 70.4%
Clinton: 83,084 29.6%
-----------------------
280,528 8.7665% (280,528/3.2 million)

So Obama got 70% of just under 9% of the total MoveOn.org membership. So he really got 6.170125% of the total MoveOn membership vote.

15. I agree. To be fair and transparent, they should have done that. I did not vote, either.

13. No - this email poll came out in the last couple of days
Sure they've been polling for a long time. But this email poll is the only time they've asked people which of the remaining candidates MoveOn should endorse. I only got the ballot by email yesterday. As of yesterday, there were only two candidates left in the race.

18. I didn't participate either.
I'm done with move-on. Just like everything else it moves on to the status quo.
