Poll question: I know, I know...another "which repub do you want to face in Nov" poll. Sorry.... |
|
but I'm asking this poll question in hopes of getting some feedback after you consider the question from this specific angle:
Both Romney and McCain can be easily shown to be liars and flip-floppers. We all know the issues, no need to rehash it here, I guess. But one of these candidates has to be less effective when it comes to defending himself from the charge, and it seems to me that we should want to face the candidate who will be less effective when it comes to defending his wishy-washy record.
Which candidate do you believe fits that bill?

1. We don't want the Freeptards to know which candidate we REALLY want to face. |
|
That kind of defeats the purpose.
So, I'm going to vote for the one I don't want to face.
Or am I?

2. Either of those two guys would be fine... |
|
but since RW radio is really pounding McCain, he would be the best to go against. The GOP propaganda wing is talking John down big time. Our nom will hardly have to spend anything in advertising.

3. I actually am coming around to the view that McCain would be easier to beat-- |
|
Romney has already been through the flip-flop stuff, and he's still number two in the race--people are tired of it. His only true weakness is likability. But McCain gets less likable as time goes on, and the flip-flop charges will be newer, and stick harder, to Mr. "Straight Talk"--plus, there's no way to get around his age, his health, his temperament, and his 100 Years of Warfare pledge.

After hearing how much conservative Republicans are alarmed at the prospect of his being the Rep. nominee, I'm thinking it does become the nominee, some will sit the election out, or even vote for the Democrat (I know that doesn't make sense, but they may feel so angered by his perceived disloyalty to party principles, that some Republican voters would go that far).
Also maybe his strong pro-occupation stance will turn off independents who will then vote for the Democratic candidate.

4. The CCM is already setting up the meme that nominating Hill unites the rePIGlickers behind McCain |
|
That is how they plan to steal 2008.

7. Romney, because we'll win by more in the House and Senate. |
|
It'll be closer (but still a win) against McCain.
McCain will bring more Republicans to the polls for a variety of reasons.

8. They're both vulnerable. |

I can't decide which is more so. I would have been more worried about Huckabee, but he doesn't look like a factor anymore.
