What did you think of Obama helping Clinton in and out of her chair at last night's debate? |
|
I don't have an opinion on this, but I wonder how some of you viewed that. Was it gentlemanly? Maybe a little sexist? Neither? Something else? Were you too busy pouring your beer?

We were wondering last night how long it would take for someone to accuse him of being sexist for being nice. You can always tell when Hillary is in trouble, the ridiculous attacks just get wilder.

I appreciate politeness shown to women or men. I did wonder, though, if it would be taken as sexist. God knows, no matter what candidates do, there are great howlings somewhere or other.

That was pathetic to go on TV and try to spin that.
You know what I say to that... Well Hillary, we're all still out here waiting for that apology.

Something about that Hillary is running for President and he treated her like a lady and somehow that is insulting to Hillary.  Good Lord, he can't win with some people.

It was not sexist. It was common courtesy. And, I think he was trying to undo the damage from the "snub".
However, it also made him appear deferential. I don't think that is what he wants.

Any campaign manager worth spit would have been decisively clear on that point.
Just as Hillary's ordered her to show no signs of animosity or resentment.

38. Actually it was typical Obama... |
|
after a committee meeting with his staff, he was, as usual, a day late and a dollar short.
He has to ponder being nice...it is not an automatic response on his part.
Give him credit, he did act like a gentleman unlike his previous snub.

Look, I believe in examining all candidates closely...on the issues. But this parsing of every small gesture, change in posture or facial expression, every fart, throat clearing, eyeblinks, etc. etc.etc. has got to stop.
