Alabama Times-Journal endorses Hillary Clinton.
Democrats: Hillary Clinton

There is a central theme coming from Democrats in 2008. It is obvious, and both Sen. Hillary Clinton and Sen. Barack Obama spin it each chance they get. It’s change, and it can be a solid message.

However, we prefer some substance with our style. We prefer experience, and we prefer more concrete plans over hopeful ideals from our politicians. With that in mind, the Times-Journal endorses Clinton in Tuesday’s Alabama Presidential Primary.

While Clinton does represent more of a Washington insider than Obama, that is not always a bad thing. She has been through the wars of Washington, and we believe she has the knowledge and experience to effectively govern. We also believe she will bring the change so many of us in Alabama are looking for from our leaders.

Her ideas on trade, agriculture and the Iraq War give us hope at a time when so many of us in Alabama are searching from something and someone to provide leadership during difficult times.
