39. Answer *Honestly*: If It Were Hillary, Would You Be So Upset? |
|
The PC answer is to say "yes, of course I would" but really think about it because it's far too easy to give that answer as a reflex. Saying "I don't know" is a fair answer here too.
That goes only for Hillary supporters who are arguing against the endorsement and or saying they un-subscribed from MoveOn.

43. That was a quick reply so I *hope* you REALLY thought about it |
|
but I guess there's no way of really knowing. At any rate, although I'll give you the benefit of the doubt, I have a very hard time believing that most of the upset Clinton supporters would be so upset about this if the situation were reversed.
Don't get me wrong, it's quite possible Obama supporters would also be doing the same thing if the situation were reversed. But I'm just observing the current situation as it is.

Who betrayed you were the 197,444 members who voted for the candidate that wasn't your choice. It is called Democracy..And you have every right to protest against the 197,444 including me who voted for Obama. In the end this endorsement isn't going to mean shit. People are panicking for no reason at all.

We needed them to help us attack rabid elephants, not split the Dems even further. 3.2 million members and only under 300k voted? For a guy who didn't help us one bit during the Betrayus fiasco?
Meh. I'm getting sick of these "progressive" dot orgs. We lost the only true progressive candidate with a clean shot at the White House.

23. Doing the math. Ten percent of 3,500,000 equals 350,000. Far less then 10% selected Obama. |
|
It is not illogical to assume that many that did not vote did not want to pick anyone.
This will have nasty repercussions. But Soros will be pleased, and probably could care less what more than 90% of the members felt.

We know that more of Obama voters are on line than Hillary's. What does this prove? Why diss contributors who didn't even have a chance to vote? And more importantly, why use dem contributions against dems? That's why I quit. And told them so.

27. The numbers and the "poll"..... |
|
Some 280,000 moveon.org members out of 3.2 million voted in this endorsement question - by e-mail invitation and response. 197,444 Obama to 83,084 Clinton. Less tham 6% of members voted to endorse Obama.
Sure would like to see the demographics, age-wise, of the group that voted - by e-mail - by individual invite.
I thought better of moveon.org - the champions of real democracy.

The Margin of Error, based on the population and sample size, is +/-18% with 95% confidence. Pretty high by polling standards, but...
The margin by which Obama defeated Hillary was 40.8%. Barring some kind of sampling error (very possible with e-mail polls), Obama did win this contest.

There is nothing intrinsically wrong with a mail-in type of survey, though the researcher should be wary of selection effects.

I agree with the support all dems. All I am saying is they held a vote and as small of a sample as it was (and it was) 2 out of 3 members who participated in the vote picked Obama. I have no idea why they chose to interfere Hell maybe just for publicity sake but they did interfere. And anyone who disagrees has every right to not contribute and opt out of future emails. Me I don't mind the spam..I normally delete 90% of political emails unread anyway.

42. The reason why Move On supports Obama is: |
|
In Clinton's Iraq vote they saw John Kerry in 2004 alllll over again.
How Clinton responded to the question is what happened to Kerry. This would be the baggage that haunts Clinton, sorry to say.
Obama doesn't carry that baggage. And I know what some of you will say here. That Obama voted to fund the war repeatedly but that argument won't hold water in the general election. Why? a. If you didn't vote to start the war there wouldn't be a war to fund. b. It's not the troop's fault that their in this mess. To not fund them it is easy to say would be like punishing the troops given you don't know what Bush is going to do.
Everyone, even if you don't agree with this assessment please understand why I take this position. Republicans would do the same to Clinton that they did to Kerry and given how Clinton responded to this question in the debate last night, it's easy to see that she really doesn't have a clear enough answer. Many Democrats believe she is lying about her war vote and that's fair and that she should have just admitted that she made a mistake.
