I don't really care but Moveon.org endorsement of Obama was for a reason |
|
I'm not a member so I really don't care who they endorse, whoever is the eventual nominee, moveon.org will work for them. But lately moveone.org has gotten some bad press, from right wing media but it was bad press. I think they endorsed Obama because they didn't want to harm Hillary's campaign. They could have well waited to endorse after the convention but they didn't. They really prefer Hillary but endorsed Obama instead. This is my opinion. Am I nuts?

1. I don't believe that moveon is that calculating |
|
That would be a dirty trick, and I think it's below them.

3. It was a vote. Obama is more popular online than Hillary. |
|
I don't think it's much more complicated than that.
Heck, the voters even disregarded Obama's criticism of MoveOn in the "Betray-Us" dust-up. It is a feather in Obama's cap, but not a big one.

5. Not leadership offical endorsement. Instead it is some members voting |
|
on an internet poll for 24 hrs.
they were querrying their members prefernces for possible endorsement.
They did not endorse in 2004--cause they could not reach a 60% threshold on consensus with their members.

6. so, you're saying that... |
|
Moveon.org is endorsing Obama and because they have bad press, people will go to Hillary instead. Which is who they really prefer. Right?
But then they will work for the eventual nominee. So, with that logic, wouldn't that mean then that they would work for the Republicans? You know, because of all that bad press and all... Why would their little scheme work the first time, but not the second time?
I must be missing something. I don't get it.

They didn't endorse Hillary because they didn't want to taint her because their name has been dragged through the mud by right wing media. So they endorse Obama instead, that way if Obama starts getting bad press because of moveone.org's endorsement, Hillary would get the nomination instead, it wouldn't matter to them because they preferred Hillary anyway. A percentage of the people that will vote for the Demorat would say "well, moveon.org didn't endorse Hillary, so I will go with Hillary."
But like the other poster said, I need one of these: :tinfoilhat: :)
