EDWARDS FRIENDS: wishin' and hopin' and thinkin' and prayin' for Obama/Edwards? Come on in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfKWn4f6ZJc">Our best friend's wedding to Obama?

John and Elizabeth: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qyokQIQoJkc">we say a little prayer for you! (You too, Cate, Emma Claire, and Jack. And Wade will never be forgotten!)

- Dave

****************************************************************

Wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin',

(Yes: Wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin',)

Planning and dreamin' each night of his charms.

(And his truths.)

That won't get you into his arms

(But it got us into our hearts.)

So if your're looking for love you can share

(Elizabeth was generous there.)

All you gotta to is hold him, and kiss him, and love him,

(OK. Tell me more.)

And show him that you care.

(Have the Edwards gear and FEC file to prove it.)

Show him that you care, just for him.

(Does that mean vote for him?)

Do the things that he likes to do.

(Like build houses for the poor, and donate time and money to progressive causes?)

Wear your hair just for him, 'cause,

(But can I muss his?)

You won't get him, thinkin' and a prayin', Wishin' and hopin'.

(What about a callin' and a askin' Obama to cut the deal?)

'Cause wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin', Planning and dreamin' his kisses will start.

That won't get you into his heart!

(But what will get him in the next Administration?)

So if you're thinking how great true love is

(I'm doing some unConventional dreamin'.)

All you gotta to is hold him, and kiss him, and squeeze him, and love him.
Yeah, just do it!

(OK!)

And after you do, you will be his.

(Promise?)

You gotta show him that you care just for him.
Do the things that he likes to do.
Wear your hair just for him, 'cause,
You won't get him, thinkin' and a prayin',
Wishin' and a hopin'.

'Cause wishin', and hopin', and thinkin', and prayin',
Planning and dreamin' his kisses will start.
That won't get you into his heart!

So if you're thinking how great true love is!

All you gotta to is hold him, and kiss him, and squeeze him, and love him.
Yeah, just do it!
And after you do, you will be his.

You will be his.

You will be his!

****************************************************************

The moment I wake up

(The DU Movie! Shout out to lame54 and his lovely wife, Patty!)

Before I put on my makeup

(I can't find the picture of Stewie admiring himself with lipstick in the mirror. HELP!)

I say a little pray for you

(Oh, yes, we do, John and Elizabeth!)

While combing my hair now,

(And mentally mussing his.)

And wondering what dress to wear now,

(Stewie. Drag. Help.)

I say a little prayer for you

(Yeah we do!)

Forever, and ever, you'll stay in my heart

(Most definitely!)

and I will love you
Forever, and ever, we never will part
Oh, how I love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me.

(Yeah, a bit of that going around)

I run for the bus, dear,
While riding I think of us, dear,
I say a little prayer for you.
At work I just take time
And all through my coffee break-time,
I say a little prayer for you.

Forever, and ever, you'll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever we never will part
Oh, how I'll love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me.

I say a little prayer for you

I say a little prayer for you

My darling believe me, ( beleive me)
For me there is no one but you!
Please love me too (answer his pray)
And I'm in love with you (answer his pray)
Answer my prayer now babe (answer his pray)

Forever, and ever, you'll stay in my heart
and I will love you
Forever, and ever we never will part
Oh, how I'll love you
Together, forever, that's how it must be
To live without you
Would only mean heartbreak for me (oooooooooh)

(HOWL!)

1. I think Edwards is the best VP for Obama
1) it would united the moderate and progressive ends of the party.

2) Perfect assassination insurance: They're not going to knock off Obama and let a more progressive president take over!

78. Better for Hillary he would work with either
he pulls votes that Obama would never get, and votes that Hillary needs...Hillary and Edwards would be a dream team and a chance for Edwards to run in 8 years.

4. There is some synergy there.
They've got the black man white man thing going on.

And the corporate centrist vs. progressive populist contrast.

The North vs. the South.

The McCain insurance that Edwards has.

Edwards' likability ratings and Obama's concensus building.

The only downside is that they're both senators, but I don't think that is a big deal.

I would vote for that ticket.

14. I choose Veep. Then we could have President Edwards in 2016
If he is AG he will be productive, have a good few years (AG's never last all eight years of a two term presidency) and then ride off into the sunset. He may then be able to do for his issue of poverty what Gore did for the environment but he would never become president. Being Veep gives him a chance, if Obama or Hillary are successful presidents, to run in 2016 and likely win.

17. Edwards would be the only one who could help Obama see that he needs to fight now,
reach across the aisle later. Obama is a thoughtful person who actually listens. This would be the best thing. If HRC wins, and I personally believe she was anointed from the start, despite our cute dog and pony show primaries, she will not pick Obama nor Edwards. I can't quite parse out who she would pick.

We need someone in there to drain that swamp and restore justice to the Justice Department.

Edited to add: After thinking over the whole Clinton co-presidency thing (Bill admitted they'd actually done that in his time) I realize that Hillary simply can't accept a vice presidency, as there'd be no place in the White House for Bill, and apparently they really are counting on that.

Your songs made me laugh. Now I'll have an ear worm.

37. I think they'd be a good team, although I think AG would be better.
First - we have to get Obama elected. I'm not sure Edwards did much for Kerry in that respect. His polling numbers don't really suggest much of a change there. I also don't think he'd take a VP spot, but, who knows?

Secondly - Edwards would have a LOT to do as AG. I think he'd be the best we could have. I've read about how Obama works, and he listens to everyone before making up his mind. I think it would be a very special relationship between the Pres and the AG if it were those two, and they seem to respect each other quite a bit. I think the AG position fits the man.

In your picture, as you know, it's the President with the AG, thus, that's what it should be!

I know there was some kind of deal cut - Edwards dropped out quite suddenly, and of course, right after I made a donation to him! I wasn't exactly in the Edwards camp, but I wanted him to stay in the race, and dammit, I want SOMETHING for my 25 bucks. My guess would be AG in either administration. I don't think either HRC or Obama made the deal with him on their own, I'm not sure who did, but I feel certain a deal was made. Anyway, that's my vote, Edwards for AG with OBAMA!

So in the primary I will vote my conscience. I don't give up very easily, the GE is soon enough to vote as I'm told.

49. It's the hair.
: )

I have some of that, and my chin is all red when I let it grow.

I have a week still to figure out what to do, and I hope John gives us a clear smoke signal on the Sunday shows tomorrow.

... McCain/Huckabee a run for their money.

51. a friend of mine
teaches political science at the University of Georgia, he specializes in PRESIDENTIAL Campaigns, there are just a handful of people specializing in this area

ennywho - regarding Edwards, he thinks Edwards is going to "bank" his delegates and won't rush in to back anyone.

My friend is finding this primary season extremely interesting, and thinks nothing on the dem side will be decided until may or even into june. Kind of good news for me, as PA doesn't vote until end of April, so our votes may end up meaning somthing.

on the republican side - he says it looks like McCain will have it sewn up after tuesday. as far as the general election goes, (ignoring the inevitable surprises and how it will effect things) - McCain's chances are going to ride heavily on who he taps for a sidekick.

52. That's someone I'd like to meet.
I haven't had this much fun since 92, when I was making my first choice.

As for McCain's running mate: I think Huckabee is the one we ought to be most worried about.

55. If he Edwards is Veep, people will know and trust him by the time he runs for president (again).
I like this idea.

However, after this last debate, I think Clinton may be interested if she does not receive the nomination.

The real question in my mind is Clinton or Edwards? Who do you choose?

60. That's easy.
If Obama is the nominee, and if he winnows it down to those two: which one does he trust to have in the White House and Old Executive Office Building, with an army of potential spies?

72. Obama would be an idiot to offer the spot to Edwards.
And Edwards an idiot to accept.

And it just simply isn't going to happen.

You can't run a change campaign when you're running reruns.

Edwards will never again be a VP candidate for the Democrats.

He would be lambasted constantly by the media as the perennial VP candidate, and the whole thing would be a joke.

76. I support Edwards but I do not believe he'd be the best VP choice for Obama.
Barack needs someone like Biden or Richardson or Clark on his ticket. Clark is with Hillary though so that's unlikely.

80. I admire General Clark (Rhodes Scholar) very much.
However, I firmly feel that he would benefit from elective office.

Washington and Eisenhower was very special cases.

Not even George C. Marshall presumed to take more than one of the 4 big Cabinet posts.

81. SCUSE ME - HOW COULD JRE JOIN WITH O WHEN O IS RIGHT OF CENTER????
I who am a strong if not the strongest supporter of JRE would never vote for any combination with Obama in it.

He managed to be absent for pro-choice vote,
He wants to bring Republicans into the fold - hello Lieberman, remember B. Clinton had the same idea and brought in a republican FBI Director Freed who
fought him every step of the way?

Maybe when Obama becomes a lot more seasoned and not so naive....and decides to
really stand for democratic principles, but I dont need another Nancy Pelosi,
Harry Reid DLC republican president and congress

82. My life experience informs my thoughts here.
Time and again, I have found it is more useful to work from within to bring about needed reforms.

Time and again, with the gavel in my own hand, or as the Parliamentarian advising the gavel-wielder and the group, I have worked to cause different factions to stop yelling at one another, and start engaging with one another for the common good of the institution, group, etc. in question.

That doesn't mean that the debates aren't passionate. What it does mean, is that they're devoid of profanity, as low on snark as possible, and even-handed in the gavel-banging.

This approach works best when the group has some checks and balances to use with the gavel-wielder, too (e.g., over-ruling a procedural ruling by the chair).

I am a proponent of Edwards working from within, to help be a seasoning agent to help "cure" the remaining green out of Obama.
