Poll question: Do you fit the Clinton/Obama stereotype? |
|
The media and pollsters are telling us that Obama's support is a coalition of the youth, African Americans and brie eating, graduate school attending, upper income democrats.
Candy Crowley (god forbid) calls the "upper income" Democrats the "wine Democrats."
Clinton's coalition is more working class Democrats, high school educated, Latinos, women and older voters.
These "middle and lower middle class" voters are the "beer Democrats."
Are the media's demographics on target?

Are single-malt scotch drinkers upper class and super voters? Pardon me if I'm a little leery of attaching socio-economic markers, much less ideologies, to beverage of choice.
For real accuracy in predicting, let's get out that old Eight-Ball...or maybe a Ouija board.

I like brown ale and wine, but can't drink much of either.

Now that John Edwards has cruised off into the sunset with several hundreds of my campaign dollars, I'll have to drink less, but I ain't drinking that snake whizz they sell on TV sports. I'd rather have one good craft-brewed stout than a whole truckload of that watery swill!

I do support Hillary.
Key:  Hillary  Obama
I am a woman - got that one right! I like expensive beer and cheap wine. I'm calling it for the beer!!! I have three degrees  But my health sucks, and as a result, so does my income  I prefer almost every other cheese in existence over brie  I'm not Latino, but I can speak Spanish amd I grew up in SoCal... So I'm claiming this one  I'm not AA. I'm American. But ancestrally, Irish/Apache/Blackfoot, and a little Brit on the side. I am eternally youthful
So it looks like the  have it! I evidently made the correct choice.
But it's not as simple as The Candster would like it to be. :eyes:

can kiss my ass.
I'm a retired white male. I drink beer and I drink wine. I eat cheddar and I eat brie. For 30 years I smoked pot. So friggin' what?
Until I retired I was an upper income older voter. According to Crowley half of me belongs to Obama and half to Clinton.
Wrong on both scores. I always belonged 100% to John Edwards, the finest candidate we've seen in ages.
