Why Did Huckabee Stay In The Race, But Edwards Dropped Out?
Both were getting around the same support, and it would seem that most of Huckabee's support would go to Romney over McCain.

Does Huckabee not like Romney that much that he'd stay in just to keep him off the ballot?

1. Probably Old Man Cain is bargaining with Huck to keep Mitty off the ballot.
Huckster is running out of money. I expect him to drop Wed, after he helps Cain beat Mitty.

He's going to use his time now as an investment into building credibility with the religious right.

He has a shot at the VP slot just by hanging around.

What are McCain's choices for VP? He has to try to reach the South, the evangelics, in his VP choice or he's toast. Ghouliani is thrice married and too moderate.

Huckster is hanging around to see what happens, and he'll get something out of it.

9. the conservative base doesn't like Huckabee either. McCain is going to have to pick a neocon
if he wants his base.

11. pundits have been saying...not sure if it was CNN or MSNBC...
that all the Repubs hate Romney so much that Huckabee is staying in to siphon votes off of Romney to ensure that he gets beat...just happens that McCain will be the beneficiary of that.

14. Huckabee won Iowa finishes Second in SC
And has the chance to win some southern Primaries. Edwards did not do as well as Huckabee.

He will go to the concention with the ability to leverage some concessions I also think Huckabee prefers McCain to Romenty and he is pulling voters away from Romney
