A frivolous, but fun question. re: Hillary |
|
If she wins the election, what will she wear to be sworn in? A pantsuit? A business skirt/jacket combo? A gown?
What do men wear at the actual signing in? The men don't go formal until afterward, right? They wear business attire, then switch to formal for the festivities, as I recall.

1. What is the deal with her and pantsuits? I'd hope she chooses a |
|
skirt/jacket combo for inauguration day--I think she did with Bill.

I've put much thought into this for quite a long time. (Sad--I know)
My prediction:
Well tailored pantsuit for the swearing in.
Followed by a very minimalist gown with a cropped jacket (not too fancy or shiny) in a dark jewel tone (probably a deep sapphire) for the festivities.
As usual her jewelry will be simple "low profile" and tasteful.

4. Yeah, the evening gown is a bit problematic, isn't it? |
|
It can't be a traditional ballgown that the wife would wear. It has to have a more "business" look to it. I think you're right. A very minimalist gown with a jacket.
As for jewelry, yes, I suspect she'll skip the tiara.
We differ only that in that I think she MIGHT wear a tailored skirt for the swearing in.

5. Depends on the weather |
|
Remember --it's January 20th and Hillary just doesn't really do skirts.

6. I know, but even the nicest pantsuit |
|
seems a little underwhelming for the occasion.
Maybe she'll wear a long wool overcoat and pre-empt any discussion of the topic altogether.

8. If she's elected, I think she should wear a red pantsuit |
|
with a cream silk tailored shirt. It's cold in January in DC, so she'll need a coat- very dark navy would look good. I know it's corny but she looked striking in red on SOTU night. Jewelry? hmm. How about a double strand of pearls and pearl earrings set in gold. She'll also need a scarf. I think she should go with a cream cashmere that matches her blouse

9. Whatever she wears will be perfect -- because HRC is supremely competent. |
