Usually the VP choice is not somebody who has also been a presidential candidate. 2004 was the exception for the Democrats.

I would bet that either a southerner or someone from out west that has executive experience. Somebody like Richardson, but not him (he was vetted in 2004 for VP and was found "lacking"; i.e. he has some skeletons).
