Can Anyone Identify the Printer / Mailer From this data

I received a mailing (in Delaware) of two fliers which purport to come from the Obama campaign.

I live in Delaware, and I am an Obama donor.

Here is one of the pages of the fliers:

The foldover page promotes Obama

The union bug on the back looks like this:

and the bulk mailing data on the label looks like this:

Now, I have been asked whether this came from "Karl Rove" or from the Obama campaign. Can anyone identify the origin of the mailer or the printing shop responsible?

2. YES, it does say Paid for by Obama for America
Edited on Sat Feb-02-08 09:14 PM by jberryhill

...which is why I said it purports to come from the Obama campaign.

And if 241M means local 241-M, then it came from Scranton, Pennsylvania

I didn't scan the whole flier.. Its a four page, one-sheet foldover. The page above folds over the next...

The union label is on page 4, next to the bulk mailing label

4. Ahh....

Well that would account for the fact that it says "Graphic Communications International Union" in the seal.

The question is "who printed this" since another poster has claimed that this did not come from the Obama campaign.

5. Maybe they printed it
I can't find anywhere on line where GCIU have actually endorsed Obama, so maybe they just printed it as in an independent paid job, not in terms of endorsement.

From what you've described, it looks like it came from the Obama campaign. I'm not sure what the fuss is all about.

8. The "fuss" is in another thread...

Where I have essentially been called a liar for claiming to have received it.

13. I'd prefer to see my candidate promoting his message

Look, if I want to know what candidate X's program, then I'll go read what candidate X says.

I'll scan the front of it later on, but the front and back have a couple sitting at the table discussing health care, just like those commercials that were used to distort the Clinton health care project the last time.

I didn't donate to the Obama campaign to see them spend it on telling me what's bad about the other candidate.

Call me odd, but I'm never impressed with negative campaigning.

15. You must not get many flyers then
and maybe it's because we were an early caucus state, but I got all kinds of these things from everyone daily. It's just politics as usual, and this one you're referring to is pretty tame by comparison.

16. Well, more fool me then...

I'm in Delaware, and usually national candidates don't care a whole lot about our tiny state.

If that's where my donation went, then I guess I'm just naive AND a sucker.

7. Duh! Would the repubs bother with a union printshop?
Fuck no, it would be printed in China, complete with quaint mispellings. And, as the proverbial working poor I do not like Hillary's mandated insurance scheme. What about these billions squandered on empire? Seems to me there should be more than enough there to cover my working brotheres and sisters asses. Why should we pay? We make everybody else rich. They owe us.

14. Ummmm... I think even a printshop in China could put a fake image on a flyer

...but I doubt that's what happened here.

17. This is bad medicine and dirty campaigning. From a public health point of view
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 03:47 AM by McCamy Taylor
anything less than universal cradle to grave single payer health care will lead to increased disease, suffering and expense to the health care system that will keep national health from achieving the efficiency that it does in Europe.

If Obama insists upon keeping this policy in order to pander to young voters( and he is doing them no health favors by telling them that they can spend their money on iPods instead of preventive health care) it proves that he is not a man of vision as everyone claims. It makes me, an MD, MPH wonder what kind of sorry excuse he has for health advisers.National health care works when you get everyone enrolled at birth and start providing them coverage with the same provider until the day they die. The money you save from disease prevention is the reason why countries like France spend much less per capita for much better health care than we do in the US. If you leave large numbers without coverage, then you leave the medical industrial complex in place with its incentives to encourage smoking, obesity, pollution and other sources of disease that make the health care industry rich and discourage spending and government policy that would reduce disease. Research into public health and disease prevention only becomes a priority when the medical industrial complex is shut down and there is no longer a "for profit" industry that makes a killing off the misfortune and misery and lack of disease prevention of the population as a whole or of a large segment of the population.

If Obama insists upon leaving some people out of health care, I have to assume that he has been persuaded to do so by the medical industrial complex, which takes up about 15% of the GDP.

Now, as for dirty tricks, this is a first rate dirty trick and if it really comes from the Obama camp then maybe he isn't such a nice guy after all and maybe he can tackle McCain in the general.

However, one of Pat Buchanan's dirty tricks from 1972 was to put out nasty stuff about one Democrat that was attributed to another Democrat. Just because Obama does not disavow this does not mean that he did this. The MSM might not publish a disavowal if it was a Karl Rove approved dirty trick. Or, it might be helping Obama, and he might want to let it alone.
