of 2 questions to be put into play.
Is America READY for a black President?
or
Is America READY for a woman President?
Whichever question it is, they will provide the answer for us.
No, we may not ready after all, they will say. The polls will arrange to tell us it is a dead heat horse-race that's too close to call.
After they steal it with black box voting the talking heads will say too many people just couldn't vote for the first _______ President.
How do you disprove it?

for Rove and crew...
on edit: I want to clarify that I meant the above -REGARDLESS which candidate emerges. RoveCo or whomever is running the repub-prick campaign will just take the oft-repeated bashing points against H or O from straight off this board.

I'm sort of surprised to see the degree of competition among Republican candidates, especially in a year when many feel that their chances of winning the GE are so limited. This is not like the sacrificial offering of Bob Dole in '96. I fear they have a grand plan.

13. The Republicans have had 16 years preparing and testing their tactics for Clinton. |
|
Americans have had 16 years to learn to respond to Clinton bashing. Obama is a new factor in the equation. He is not a thoroughly tested product, as is Clinton.
Moreover, Bill Clinton brought us NAFTA, media deregulation, so-called welfare "reform", and other policies that have been destructive to progressive policies and values. Hillary has touted her "experience" in the White House. That kind of experience does not bode well for the country.
I supported Edwards, and I still think he would be our best candidate, and make the best president for progressive policies. However, with him suspending his campaign (whatever that is supposed to mean to his supporters), I would sooner take a chance on Obama, although he is somewhat of an unknown quantity, rather than support Clinton who comes with so-o-o many negatives.

14. They have. Not all, but a lot of the bashing of Clinton we've heard in this forum... |
|
.. I'm sure are paid Republican operatives (I've posted a few times on my experiences with these Republican plants), who would benefit by destroying both, (not just one), candidates. They thereby bash both and create havoc, making it seem there's "no one to vote for", and setting up Repukes to say precisely that. My opinion? Ignore their Rovian behinds and proceed forward.
And by the way, I'm more in your camp of thinking on the current election. I, too, was an ardent Edwards supporter, and currently I agree with you.
