Obama rally had 20,000 people watch him in St. Louis tonight
Barack Obama spoke at the Edwards Jones Dome In St. Louis at 10PM on Saturday night bringing in a crowd of over 20,000 people.

Illinois Senator Barack Obama ended a full day of campaigning in St. Louis Saturday night, with a stop at the Edward Jones Dome.

Obama was introduced by Missouri Senator Clair McCaskill, who recently announced her decision to endorse the candidate for the democratic nomination.

Obama began his speech by thanking McCaskill and others who joined him on stage for their support. They included former Senator Jean Carnahan, Rep. Russ Carnahan, Rep. Lacy Clay, Missouri State Auditor Susan Montee and St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley.

Obama told those in the crowd he's running for President because of what Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. called the fierce urgency of now.

He also spoke about the economy, and told the crowd the U.S. can not afford to wait to fix our health care system, our schools and bring good jobs to our communities.

It JUST happened...could be more people.

Have you ever been to a political rally with 20,000 people? It's pretty impressive especially when they had 8 inches of snow on the ground and at 10PM on a Saturday night.

18. You are confused......
I was a volunteer there tonight and they were estimating there would be 13,000. 70,000 is how much the stadium can hold but they never expected that many people.

Do you hang up your integrity behind the door before sitting down at your computer?

11. You sure are going to Low Places with that comment
Actually, I'm not sure Garth would get 20,000 people in St. Louis to see him. He's pretty much dropped off the map. He's more of a Casino guy now.

15. Mr Brooks just did *5* shows here in LA
as a benefit to people affected by the fires. They were his first concerts in nearly a decade, save a couple shows he did in Kansas City (he is officially "retired"). Not a fan of Mr Brooks, but he did something good and I don't think it's right to disparage him.

19. Hi, zulchzulu.
Reports from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch support the evident enthusiasm of a very large crowd for Sen. Obama:

http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/politics/story/4186D64E381E10E6862573E4000DD31C?OpenDocument

--and I have a more personal corroboration of same from a cousin who attended and sent several of us kin his assessment from the event.

There appears by all counts to be a strong push for Obama in Missouri.
