Sun Tzu on knowing your enemy and yourself.
“It is said that if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles; if you do not know your enemies but do know yourself, you will win one and lose one; if you do not know your enemies nor yourself, you will be imperiled in every single battle.” (“The Art of War” by Sun Tzu, c. 6th century BC)

Sun Tzu also wrote "Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat."

I’ve read with amusement and dismay the strident, rancorous, divisive, derisive arguments on DU between supporters of Clinton, Obama, Edwards, Kuichini, et al.

Sun Tzu’s principles quoted above seem relevant but ignored by many DUers.
