How much of your opinion of the candidates is influenced by their positions?
how much by personalities or your personal feelings about them?

and how much by the candidate's supporters here on DU?

1. Two factors: what I think their goals are, and how effective they will be in achieving those goals
Personalities or personal feelings play into the confidence I have in their expressed goals, and their likely effectiveness at achieving them.

Behavior of candidate "supporters" at DU have nothing to do with my assessment.

5. unless they varied dramatically in their policies, i would
vote for either dem. that said, hill and barack were not MY frontrunners. my choice now is not about personality or what anyone here has to say. it's about my belief that hillary is less progressive than obama. i'm also a little tinfoil hat in the coziness of bill and 41. i think we get too much of the same from a hillary presidency. i'm ready for change and hillary is not it. just my opinion. i WILL vote for her if she is the nominee . . . and hope that she disagrees with bill on nafta, telecommunications and other republican wet dreams.

6. I support Edwards because of his stands on the issues.
I am turned off to Hillary in part because of her personality, in part because of her stand on the Iraq War back when Code Pink approached her about supporting peace in Iraq. I feel Hillary is arrogant.

I do not support Obama because of his stands on specific issues including nuclear energy, health care, Social Security and the "excesses of the '60s and '70s," a phrase he uses and has never defined.

I support John Edwards also because he could win in November. Neither Hillary nor Obama can possibly win in November.

Hillary needs to watch her tape debates. I was talking with a group of apolitical friends yesterday. They watched the debate and, without my prompting or saying anything, stated that they were offended by the expressions on Hillary's face when she listened to Obama. They think she looks arrogant, snobbish. They said they think she always looks like she has the only right answer and can't wait to get to say what it is. People really don't like Hillary. I'm sorry. Please don't shoot the messenger. I had never talked to these friends about Hillary before -- ever. This was their spontaneous reaction.
