I need someone to help me kick their ass, defund the war, provide immediate universal healtchare and put an end to the bullshit.

I have no hope. Until we get rid of government of, by & for the corporations, we are fucked.

3. I think that person you need is YOU. Get involved. I used to wait around waiting for the knight
with the Holy Grail, till I realized if I didn't get off my butt and did something, nobody else was going to do it for me. Since then I've been active. YOU don't give yourself enough credit for being able to mobilize and motivate. We can vote in DEMS, which is the first step, but after that what do we do? Sit around? NO. We get out there and get involved, run for office (even tiny, local posts), join local Democratic Party groups so you can provide your great extreme lefty influence. I love to do that myself. :-)

6. It's foolish to ignore the political implications of
inspiration. History should have taught you that. It's not about you personally needing hope; it's about bringing in new voters and getting the American people behind a progressive agenda.

7. I didn't say I needed hope. We need some flat-out deeds.
History teaches everyone

And recent history has taught people the war must end now and heath caree is needed now. That is not a progressive agenda, it is reality.

The problem is not inspiring people to do something. It is doing what they already know needs to be done.

8. First you have to get elected and elected with the biggest possible
margin. In order to push through your agenda it really helps to have that almost mythical thing- a mandate. Both Hillary and Obama will try to do the things you mentioned in your OP. In my estimation, Obama stands a better chance of being successful if he gets elected. Hope, inspiration, etc, doesn't rule out action.

11. And the mandate will evaporate the longer he waits before doing something.
Hope plus delay equals cynicism equals status quo equals deeper repression.

A campaign may run on rhetoric but change doesn't.

9. Wrong...you think what we've been lacking is the right beauracrat to get things done?
We've been lacking consensus...
