Her "firewall" in CA is supposedly the early voting that took place before people got to know Obama. I saw that on the crawl yesterday on CNN. Now he's LEADING in CA and tied nationally and catching up daily. Obama will probably beat her among those who actually waited to see him and learn about him. She's trying to "hang on" to the lead she had while he's trying to be seen by as many people as possible, because most people who see him are convinced to vote for him.

If Obama ends up competitive with Hillary at the end of the day Tuesday, he'll have enough time to bring around those in the later states and will win the nomination and the presidency. (IMEO, of course).

1. Some are said to have voted as early as the 1990's
and I don't think that should be allowed.

4. And Hillary (as well as Bill) are ALSO the past. And their secrecy/lack of transparency SHOULD be
the past and hopefully WILL be the past.

5. I don't see how any thinking person would put the country in the
hands of a person with absolutely no experience, much like Bush except Bush was a Governor. BO waffles, he says one thing turns out that didn't go over so he's been 'misunderstood', and changes his mind. He has attacked Hillary repeatedly and wiggled out of it getting a free pass from the media. This same media that is choosing our candidate will also choose someone in the GE. Who will they back then? Who owns the media? We all know that.

7. I don't see how any thinking person could think that Obama has absolutely no experience.
He's nothing like Bush. Bush failed in everything he did. Obama has succeeded in everything he did and he didn't have a daddy to give him all the help through connections like Bush.

Obama's a success story and will continue to be one as president.

8. That's a stupid conclusion to draw. People with experience and gravitas supporting him
give him credibility and legitimacy in the eyes of many people. My doctor, who I saw on the day Kennedy endorsed Obama, said he was surprised that he'd endorse someone with "so little experience." I filled him in on some of Obama's experience and judgement, and now he will be voting for Obama (in NY).

9. We don't know who someone will vote for in the privacy of the
voting booth. Professionals often agree with clients/patients to keep them coming back. Voting is serious business for most people and thinking people are not going to be easily persuaded to change their vote. Especially from a well informed, knowledgeable person to an inexperienced greenhorn. This is a serious election and he won't have time for on the job training before he has to make decisions. If you like him then find out who his go to person will be. Of course he isn't completely truthful so I don't know if asking will be of any real benefit. The public needs to know, we don't need another Cheney, Wolfzy, or Rummy, etc.

10. You don't understand...

I see him every few weeks and call him in the weeks I don't see him. He doesn't have time to know all about the Dems.' positions. He was going to vote for Hillary just on name recognition, that she's the wife of BILL Clinton. Once I filled him in he said, without me asking, that he'll be voting for Obama now. He didn't even know Obama was against the war from the start, that he spoke out against it.

11. Jen, I read today that in CA in early voting, Field poll has Obama with 32% and Hillary with 31%
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 04:47 PM by flpoljunkie
While many will have their hunches reading the tea leaves here as to who will win the California primary, this one is simply too close to call, and the race will be determined by those who actually turn out and vote. It is not just the margin of error of the poll here of static statistics, but a volatile and unpredictable electorate and the closeness of division in those who have already made up their minds. For those who have surmised that Obama may have a steep road to go up because of early vote by mail voters, consider this: Amongst all mail ballot voters who have or are expected to vote, the results are 32% Obama and 31% Clinton—hardly decisive at all.

This is where I read it--on DU, of course! Thanks to book_worm!

12. Wow! Thanks for that article! I heard that Hillary's campaign said she won the early voting
something like 53% to 33%. I hope Obama ends up shocking us ALL and BEATING her there! :hi:
