Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 02:21 PM by REDFISHBLUEFISH
It appears the Obama supporters have the worlds shortest memory.

The last UNITER was Dubya....remember?
Yeah I have had enough of unity.

I want change!

HILLARY 08!

Will he advocate strongly for beliefs or compromise for unity?
Will he be like the democrats of the past and fight for principles or "work with repubs"
What core beliefs will he sacrifice for "unity"
Do you realize having different beliefs and stances is the whole beauty of our system?
If we unite on the abortion issue or Gay rights...what side is Obama uniting on...what sacrifices will he make for unity?
Unity is not a good thing when the other side is WRONG!

False unity slogans of bringing the country together and working with the opposition SPIT in the face of our history of having advocates fighting for THEIR side of an issue.

It is not a good thing!

4. I am merely pointing out the OVER USE and consistent abuse of that campaign theme.
He is just like Dubya in his approach.

Hillary is better then either one!

6. I want competent leadership who can get the job done
and I'm afraid getting the job done means recruting the American people to campaign for the change they want so they put pressure on the dems and republicans in government.

Either Hillary or Obama could fail or pull it off but I think we need more transparency and a more issue educated and demanding electorate. This also seems to be Obama's theory.

20. Misinformation is Easy
Here Here.

The consensus on DU seems to be that it is o.k. to cry on and on about the "MSM" and then use the same messages that they hear on TV against other candidates. You should try to get Barack or David Axelrod, or Plouffe to answer this question.

The country is not as ideological as you. This is a reality you might have to get used to.

I am tempted to hand out copies of Barack's books if you want to get into details. Clearly, with the thought and effort you put into this post, you are not that invested in the question.

Finally, Obama is practicing Governance. I think some DUers and Activists want blood. That's o.k. with me too, but that is going to have to be a bottom-up process, not top-down.

Real progressives need to support Obama and then push him when he is in office. Some coalition building in between Presidential years would be nice also.

Conservatives across the country meet every sunday. Progressives are sending emails around and angry message posts and they think they deserve something.

17. So now anyone that wants a united country is Dubya redux???
Puleeeze. This is silly. Bush used that as a campaign slogan while having no intention of actually doing it. Just because Bush is a liar and truly pathetic individual does not mean that anyone trying to bring the country together is clearly the same as Bush.

For shame for even saying such a thing.

What a bunch of garbage.

Our system thrives because it is of the people and supports strong advocacy of your beliefs vs others!

I do not want a one blended party mushed up like a bland can of creme corn!

I want an advocate!

just before the 2004 election totally cowed into silence in an interview with Don Imus. The image is seared into my mind and I am 100% sure Barack will cave to the repubs.
