Quit lying: Obama will fine people; Clinton will garnish wages
Well, obviously, if there is a national health service and some people who have the money refuse to pay, something has to be done.

But, what's interesting is that some Obama supporters are dishonestly foisting this meme on us when in fact garnishing is not as bad as fines (for which you pay on top of your debt). Who is foisting this meme? You Obama supporters who are pushing this idea, is it your own idea or did someone suggest you push it? At any rate, why use this kind of political dishonesty in a forum like this?

1. Obama will not fine but Hillary said a possibility would be "going after wages"

Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton said Sunday she might be willing to garnish the wages of workers who refuse to buy health insurance to achieve coverage for all Americans.

The New York senator has criticized presidential rival Barack Obama for pushing a health plan that would not require universal coverage. Clinton has not always specified the enforcement measures she would embrace, but when pressed on ABC's "This Week," she said: "I think there are a number of mechanisms" that are possible, including "going after people's wages, automatic enrollment."

Obama will....
Individuals and families who do not qualify for Medicaid or SCHIP but still need financial assistance will receive an income-related federal subsidy to buy into the new public plan or purchase a private health care plan.

Obama has said he would require parents to buy health insurance for children, and possibly fine them if they refused, but he would not insist that all adults buy insurance.

4. Obama - Fines and school exclusion 'the same as inoculations'.
Obama stated that he would require parents to provide their children with health insurance and leave it to schools to enforce it the way they do with inoculations.

“I would sign them up in school in the same way they would get inoculated. I would fine parents if form some reason they refused. I am happy to be very clear on how we would enforce the mandate,” Obama said. http://firstread.msnbc.msn.com/archive/2007/11/28/48504...

Another unfunded federal mandate.

What this means is that schools will have to have personnel go through school records and keep track of the children's health coverage. Then what? My district excludes children from school who do not have inoculations. Another district excludes children and then takes parents to court under truancy laws. This is how Obama is proposing to deal with the health insurance for children issue.
