What do you DISLIKE the most about John McCain?
I dislike his stance on Iraq and his pathetic sense of humor. I respect his military service A LOT.

1. Bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran
Until that moment I had a grudging respect for the man.

2. Just about everything
He went through some serious shit for his country, and that's sad. But it doesn't saint him. Plenty of people have come back from wars and become a menace to society, and he is one of them. His racism is probably the worst trait I could list, but there are many others.

3. his warmongering
His little "bomb Iran" ditty offended me deeply. Bombing a country and killing women and children and innocent civilians isn't terribly funny to me.

4. How he went into
kissing Bush's ass after the stuff the Bush/Rove team did to him and said about his wife during the 2000 campaign-that was something I personally could never forgive-showed me he was a wimp-and then the bomb Iran joking around song was truly sick

Kinda remind me of Stephen King's "It". "Pennywise!"

Seriously, though, his stance on the war bothers me the most. It's immoral, it's pointless, and it's expensive.

And also his Iraq stance.
I must admit that I don't hate McCain..
I would never vote for him but I respect his service.
And he hasn't always walked lock step with his party.
Me not hating McCain tells me that he is going to be tough to beat.

12. I can understand that his military service is a defining concern for McCain
Edited on Sun Feb-03-08 07:25 PM by Old Crusoe
but there is the matter of his ever having learned the key lesson of its perils and tragedies. Out of his mouth comes more war talk, more blood talk, more pro-Surge talk, and it suggests to me that he is not one to have learned key take-aways about his experience. The sorry son of a bitch was locked in a cage for five years and what has emerged in him in the years and decades since is a pathetic endorsement of Bush's assault on and occupation of a sovereign nation and culture. More of the same -- a perpetuation of the exact conditions under which he suffered.

There are a lot of men, women, and children who suffer and die in wars as collateral victims who are not famous, who are not elected representatives, who are not wealthy or white or well-connected. McCain owes them the attention his words deny them at present. He owes them respect and consideration. He owes them a deep apology.

And unless you're a right-wing kook, his voting record in the Senate is as conservative as they come, and thereby appalling.

That's what I don't like about John McCain.

15. He was swiftboated prior to the 2000 SC primary
and, if Kerry was damaged by the same ratfuckers in 2004, McCain was absolutely pulverized by them in 2000 - he never recovered, and Dubya took the lead from there.

One might think a "fighter" like McCain would strike back hard at the Bush camp, but nooooo. Oh yeah, he pissed and moaned about it a little, but then embraced the very candidate that destroyed him. He has kissed BushCo ass ever since, and I have less than zero respect for the craven bastard.

McCain is the perpetual war candidate.
No matter how he's re-packaged, he's a 'pug.
He's intellectually inferior to the Dem. candidates.
He's admitted he knows very little about economic issues.
War hero or not, the guy's unstable and easily comes unglued.
McCain will certainly stack the SCOTUS as per the Repug. agenda.
Any one of the Dem. candidates would be a better POTUS than McCain.

29. He hasn't earned a future because he's pointedly betrayed his past.
Viet Nam -- McCain's war -- was violent and divisive. From that point forward there should have been a different voice from McCain about the horrors of war and the violence visited upon other human beings.

Instead we get the boot-licking Bush-hugging war-mongering old tyrant, ready to "do battle" with the terrorists.

Ugh.

at best and most likely of all, counterproductive. He knows this and yet he's willing to send young people to suffer and die for decades because the Oval office is the only Viagra he's got left.

Ass. Worse than ass. Ass of death.
