In response to the OP, Obama is the only one NOT mandating health insurance. i.e. he doesnt tie your insurance to your job.

18. Hillary's & Edwards' plans both provide for a public gov't plan that would open door to single payer

And Obama's plan mandates health insurance for kids, so he's not really against the idea of mandated insurance coverage: he's just not willing to take the final step for all which would be required for universal coverage. O's plan is a weaker plan than either Hill's or John's and farther away from opening the door to single payer.
